Re: Arsenal v the Victims Sat 4th April 12:45pm
I'm not so sure tbh, Koscienly was self inflicted by the way so I don't think there was anything unfortunate about him missing, that could have been prevented with better planning and Giroud was replaced with Welbeck so it's not like we were relying on Bendtner, both have done well and made the difference but for me if both had stayed fit all season and we had Arteta or Flamini holding then we would be fighting for 4th right now and looking at a last day scrap instead of being 9 points clear, looking at 2nd and praying to pounce on a Chelsea slip up.
While Giroud was out Sanchez was scoring so I'm not so sure that we didn't cope but there's been a noticeable difference to this team since Arteta got injured and Coquelin was recalled.
We've all seen the value of a dynamic ball winner that is not afraid to get stuck in and keep things simple allowing the rest to play.

Very well said.beck wrote: I'm a love the arsenal at all costs man
I see this club as the best in the world but with a manager who undervalues us and doesn't represent our arsenal anymore
We were the most decorated club in the country till liverpool went past us in the mid 70's and utd in the mid 90''s so I want to hack at the neck of all these fans who have been rope a doped into shit like be careful what you wish for when he leaves.
He didn't create arsenal it was there already he wrote one of the best chapters in the clubs history and for that I can't help but feel respect. I understand fully the frustration at how an intelligent man has become so entrenched in things that are not working
I just think the name calling dilutes the fact that we are calling for wengers head from an articulate standpoint
Augie's got a name for everyone though - Wellshit is another favourite of his

I've no experience of augie 'talking a lot of sense' but, I know that I agree with a lot of what he writes on here.
That is why I championed augie to be a Moderator. For crying out loud, this place needs a voice of reason and common sense.
WENGER OUT

You could see from the first minute that we really fancied it. Our pressing game was fantastic and some profligacy in front of goal aside we would have almost won the game in the first 10-15 minutes. You can't play at that level for 90 minutes every game but I wish we saw more of that intensity and cohesive pressing, we look a completely different side.
Granted they had a pretty dominant spell afterwards but overall I thought we were good value for a comfortable victory and there were strong performances all over the pitch. Hopefully it will have put down a marker if this turns out to be the FA Cup final.

Didnt say Kos being out was unfortunate, exactly as you say, there was plenty of time to get in a replacement with an injury thats notorious for being recurrent.Gunnersaurus wrote:I'm not so sure tbh, Koscienly was self inflicted by the way so I don't think there was anything unfortunate about him missing, that could have been prevented with better planning and Giroud was replaced with Welbeck so it's not like we were relying on Bendtner, both have done well and made the difference but for me if both had stayed fit all season and we had Arteta or Flamini holding then we would be fighting for 4th right now and looking at a last day scrap instead of being 9 points clear, looking at 2nd and praying to pounce on a Chelsea slip up.

Wouldnt honestly say that Welbeck is an adequate replacement for Giroud, certainly not for 4 months solid, Its hard to ever be sure, thats the fun of it.
One thing I think we are all agreed on, Coq has yet again shown AW up as the luckiest manager going

pleased with the win obviously, but fucking hell theres so many mongs that support this club that mainly come out when we're in good form.
girouds world class will win us the league next season, general overrating of every player, moral high ground over what we spend to achieve the ultimate top 4 etc. all ready won the fa cup, unlucky to not still be in the champions league etc et fucking cetera. exhausted arguing with these *word censored*.

Glad to see a regular posters cropped up to slag peoples excitment off

Cant see anyone on this thread thats anything but a regular poster. Context of Giroud, hes certainly on form, scored goals in all of the last 6. Not sure who said he is "world class" its hard to say he isnt darn good though at the moment isnt it?
Not honestly sure how you can define "World class" anyway, and does it matter, so long as they are banging them in for us who cares.
Not sure anyone said we were unlucky not to be in the CL, we played so so badly in the first game (Including Giroud

All players who started v Liverpool played great.
No ones saying weve already won the cup- many cant bear the prospect of Stevie picking it up- fair enough.
We are on a great run, beating Citeh and MAnure away and the mousers at home, guess thats nothing to get excited over

In many ways the game was very non-Arsenal (recent AW vintage).
Overall, I don't think we were great. We certainly didn't control the whole game and most players were below their best. However, when we attacked we looked sharp and we scored some great goals. I'll always prefer this to long periods of tippy-tappy control.
AW may also have 'done tactics'. Manure showed that Rodgers' insistence on playing 'cultured' football from the back doesn't work with Sakho, Kolo and Skrtel and we also pressed them high up the pitch and they were lucky not to concede more.
Like a previous poster, I was a bit nervous at the start that this would leave the BFG exposed, but it was a good call from AW and I thought the players did it well. It shows how important tactics, effort and discipline are.
A similar performance at Burnley and we should have a comfortable 3 points.
