Wonder what time the sp*rs fan Baba will be back if we get done over the weekend? Been quiet for a while now
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Just seen BT sport video interview where Wenger is pleading with fans to get behind the team.........fucking diabolical liberty, these away fans have given 100% at all games, that makes me mad
not getting millions in wages to be there like some

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
100% agree. The supposed improvement is a myth, as we have the same points as last season. We took four points from City this season, but that aside, we have still lost to United, Chelsea, and spurs, so haven't really improved when it comes to the big games. The truth is that the English media are a joke, as they will hype up the importance of a top four finish, and our lack of a real title challenge will be forgotten because we are on a good run of form. We are going to finish somewhere between 2nd, 3rd or 4th, and we might win the cup, so pretty much the same as last season.Bradywasking wrote:This league is mediocre at best, Chelsea will fall over the line and be Champions, the much derided Van Gaal's Man U will possibly finish second, we should get third and the seemingly disinterested Man C will get fourth.
If Man U get second place it only confirms how poor this league is this (and for the last few) seasons. Liverpool nearly won it last season with one player if further proof was needed. So in my humble opinion it is a failure for Arsenal that we are not at least going toe to toe with Chelsea for the title. I do not buy into the massive improvement argument. There have been improvements but not enough to get this squad playing to its full potential. As suggested above the improvement in the second half of this season is the defence trusting the goalkeeper.
We as supporters believe that we need to strengthen our squad and probably we do , but I believe our current squad is good enough to challenge for the title in this mediocre season(s) . That we haven't is down to the manager.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Wouldnt object if we won the FA Cup pretty much most seasons though TBH
Is too much is being made of the same points as last year, we were on a bad slide last year but on a rise currently this year- anyone able to give a rough projections of this seasons end points compared to last
Big tests really are the FA cup Chavs and Manure, as well as Burnley- in that The Chavs drew and Citeh last at Turf Moor.
Agree with BWK and others, this and last year will be looked back on as big and soluble missed opportunities in the league

Sorry to disappoint but I'm back......just in time to here that Abou is back 'in contention' for Saturday and the run-in. Everyone banging on about Stevie Me and his last game at Wembley but the dream is Abou sticking in the winner and the contract extension being signed immediately afterwardsarseofacrow wrote:SteveO's on holiday, mate.flash gunner wrote:Wonder what time the sp*rs fan Baba will be back if we get done over the weekend? Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Just like when we won the 2013 Calendar Year Trophy though you're not allowed to suggest that because THIS time its definitely different and is real progress unlike the other false dawns. Many a Gooner I've heard talking about the title next season too....lol, yep Chavski and City will get far worse where as There's Only One will sign those 2 or 3 players we've needed for 10 years to propel us to the titleaugie wrote:Gunner Rob wrote:just been looking at our points for this season and last season.
Last year after 31 games we had 63 points won 19 drawn 6 and lost 6
This year after 31 games we have 63 points won 19 drawn 6 and lost 6
so....nothing really has changed. same results, just different order.
we might finish 2nd. ok but is that down to the genius of Wenger or the fact that Liverpool sold their cannibal and City have been execeptionally poor for the last few months?
this season we have got 1 point v Spurs and had our usual defeats v Chelsea and Man United.
3 big matches to come this season - v Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool probably in the cup final.
win all those and yeah maybe we have turned the corner. I am certainly not convinced at the moment though.
An interesting stat for those who still believe/defend wenkerNothing changes with wenker and nothing ever will

Excluding burnley (who werent in this division last season), we took 11 pts last season from the corresponding 6 remaining games in this season

No mate we took 16 points from the last 7 gamesaugie wrote:Theoperator wrote:Wouldnt object if we won the FA Cup pretty much most seasons though TBH![]()

Excluding burnley (who werent in this division last season), we took 11 pts last season from the corresponding 6 remaining games in this seasonIt should also be noted that in our last 7 league games last season, we picked up 19 points from a possible 21 - if we dont do that again this season, then we will actually finish this season with a lower points tally than last season and this season's standard has been absolute shit

We drew with city lost at Everton then won the last 5 games

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Have been pleased to notice that it appears the players have been practicing set pieces !!
Giroud scored goal from a corner routine where the BFG peeled away from the front post leaving the space for Giroud to run into, meet the ball, connect sweetly and steer home. ( was it west Ham ? )
Also the Ozil free kick v bin dippers had BFG and Giroud in the wall both peeled off in opposite directions, following in o the free kick
Good to see but also about fucking time !!
Need to practise the defensive side too, as we still get vulnerable on the back post from corners + free kicks far too often.
