1 - Mr Ian Wright
I loved Wrighty, played with passion, giving his all in every match, often playing on the edge but that was what made him the clinical striker that he was.
Joined us for a club record £2.5 million at a time where many questioned George for signing him as we were banging goals in via Smith, Merson etc but he scored on his debut in the cup away at Leicester and added a hat trick on his league debut away at Southampton he ended that year winning the goalden boot.
He joined his mate David Rocastle, who had grown up on the same South Londoon estate and his fiery. flamboyant nature endeared him to Gooners as much as his goals did (which is saying something considering he was our top scorer 6 years running)
Had already scored 2 cup final goals for Palace and added to his tally with 2 in the 93 match and reply victory v Sheff Weds.
His goals were a real mix, headers, solo dribbles, volleys, chips, deft curlers, he could do the lot and he loved to score v the tint totts and celebrate - last min winner at the lane brings a smile to my face.
Overtook Bastin to become Arsenal's record scorer with 185 goals, before being overtaken by Thierry Henry.
He still talks lovingly, if with some criticism (rightly so in my book) of The Arsenal.
If you haven't already got it the Ian Wright Legend dvd is a must.

Played for Burnley very late in his career, but helped get them promotion
2 - Ray Hankin
Acoording to Wiki, he only made 2 league cup appearances for us after joining from Vancouver Whitecaps back in 1981 ! so god knows why I remember him, think he was signed soon after Hawley and one or the other was touted a being our replacement for Frank Stapleton (didn't turn out that way for either)
He had been a fairly prolific scorer for both Burnley and Leeds in his spells with those clubs but returned back to the Whitcaps to carry on playing after we let him go- then continued his career in the lower divisions.
