Wellington Silva
By all accounts this player that we signed back in 2011 now has a Spanish passport and is therefore eligible to play for us.
Anyone know if he's any good?

Re: Wellington Silva
A long while ago I read quite a detailed account of his first appearance for the youth team as a trialist, he apparently tore whomever it was we were playing apart, if memory serves me correctly he scored six and basically looked like a young Pele/Messi/Maradona.
He's had a lot of loan spells in Spain since, with some well documented behavioural problems, and has struggled pretty much wherever he's gone, in and out of teams in the second tier of Spanish football, so probably best not to expect too much from him.

In fact I'm fairly sure it won't be long until we give him the boot.......

Sounds a bit like coquelin's Arsenal career up until 4 months ago..remigardeshair wrote:A long while ago I read quite a detailed account of his first appearance for the youth team as a trialist, he apparently tore whomever it was we were playing apart, if memory serves me correctly he scored six and basically looked like a young Pele/Messi/Maradona.

Really so glad he can fill the place in the team weve been needing for so long.

Coupled with the return of Joel Campbell-that's our attacking options sorted for next season

Duke of Beef Wellington Boot......forgot he was still on our books.
I'm sure he'll be a roaring success at the second division Portuguese club he signs for upon his release.

Which of course will be the classic AKB defence if anyone dares to write him off. How's Quincy Owusu Abeyie doing these days - he once played a first team League Cup game against Everton skinned them alive and is probably now serving chips somewhereNos89 wrote:Sounds a bit like coquelin's Arsenal career up until 4 months ago..remigardeshair wrote:A long while ago I read quite a detailed account of his first appearance for the youth team as a trialist, he apparently tore whomever it was we were playing apart, if memory serves me correctly he scored six and basically looked like a young Pele/Messi/Maradona.

I was there that night; he was mustard. Went to Russia I think and is probably emptying bins or something now.SteveO 35 wrote:Which of course will be the classic AKB defence if anyone dares to write him off. His glittering career that produced 17 goals in over 160 games seems to have been cut short after his contract with Boavista was terminated by 'mutual consent'

Judging by this lad Wellington's attitude they'll be serving chips together somewhere soon !
