I've seen this from a couple of sources today:-

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football ... m-Carvalho

Arsenal agree £21.5m fee for Manchester United and Chelsea midfield target

ARSENAL have reportedly agreed a £21.5million fee for Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.

The Portugal international has been ever-present in Marco Silva's side this season, making a total of 38 appearances in all competitions.

Carvalho was targeted by the Gunners as well as Manchester United and Chelsea in the January transfer window, but the Telegraph claims that Sporting have finally agreed a fee with Arsene Wenger.

It is believed that the Primeira Liga outfit were demanding £30m for the 23-year-old, but the two parties have now apparently settled on a more modest £21.5m.

Carvalho is said to be keen on a switch to England, and could now find himself playing alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates next season.

I reckon McD might have to be putting in overtime requests to the Mods this year

On a related note I read somewhere he has only £50M to spend this summer.

Maybe if we offloaded some of our bloated attacking midfield options we'd be able to strengthen the rest of the team and get what we actually need.
  Confirmation that he is indeed McD4x4 if hes that bloody wealthy :barscarf: :barscarf:

Is internet porn that costly in the Summer these days though :rubchin:

I too would be happy if this was to happen 8)

Carvalho has a similar size and presence as yaya toure (from the clips I have seen) so if we can ensure that he doesn't suffer from the same childish sulks as toure, we should be on a winner :barscarf:

Don't know what is more worrying......reading that we might be willing to spunk £20m on a shit palace winger, or the fact that under that story there is a heading suggesting that we are about to "lose out" on tom cleverley
Of course it should be noted that on the right hand side of the page there is a headline suggesting that Liverpool have secured the signing of a top international footballer - don't know who the top international footballer is because the dopey printers put in a photo of james milner instead
