''How can you go from believing 1st is everything, and nobody remembers the runners-up, to the top 4 being success??''
That is my biggest problem with him, its that he has turned from a winner into such a loser content with mediocrity. I've said this before on here but I have a DVD reviewing the 2002/2003 season, and Wenger is gutted in his interviews that we didn't win the league. We won the FA cup, and finished 2nd, and actually challenged for(and probably threw away)the title, unlike our mythical challenge this season. Yet here we are in the same situation 12 years later, and Wenger is treating this season like its a huge success. The man goes against the principles of what this great club stands for, and that is striving to be the best, not the 4th best, what an embarrassment he is :banghead:

Exactly BFG. It's as though they are 2 different people. The Wenger that was and the wimp that exists now.
The man was a thorn in the side of the likes of Fergie. He became a joke to purple nose in the end, and is certainly of no threat to Jose. The Portuguese *word censored* openly mocks him - I think because he wants him to change his attitude and give him some kind of a genuine challenge actually.
We know the financial excuse was always a bit suspect, but it certainly doesn't hold any water now.

Is he really saying that showing the world Sanogo isn't totally shit, or Giroud can score 25 league goals something you work damn hard for? Is his motivation as football manager proving people wrong??, when did trophies become an after thought to the guy?

Coming to the end of his career , How can someone in his position never aspire to win the European Cup, because in affect if we don't spend and replace good players with great ones he can never win the thing.

I can totally understand what happened. Greed and ego took over.

"Arsene knows, Le prof, revolutionised British football, genius, honourable, etc etc......"
He loved everyone thinking how much of a brilliant, intelligent, forward thinking revolutionary he was. He lapped it up and began to believe it.

Then theres the obscene amounts of money hes been paid to win nothing. Just to finish fourth. He quickly recognised that this would be enough for him to maintain his lavish wages without pressure to succeed. Just fourth place. And thats exacgly what he did.
His target, not the fans target, not Gazidis' target, not Kronkes target (Although we knowKronke's delighted with Wengers return.)

So tell me, who wouldnt want a job where you are lauded as a genius by all and sundry, under no pressure to win anything and paid two fortunes to do it?

What it shows me is Wenger is not the honourable man his supporters like to make him out to be. Rather he has no morals, is greedy and is more concerned with propagating his 'genius' image and persuing his projects than winning actual trophys at the Arsenal.

agreed, but to dismantle a decent team and put together a better one for less is a good achievement something our dear leader could only have wet dreams about

Mourinho would never succeed without money but he saw what they needed and got it done without quibbling. Swallowed pride on behalf of the club in paying a wedge more than they received for Matic, paid big money to sign the striker they needed (with his fitness and lack of prolonged return both posing a big risk) and didn't think twice in snapping up one of the best CMs the PL has seen and a player who offers unparalleled creativity for somebody that can play as a conventional CM when many other managers may have said they didn't need him

Wenger's constant moaning about Mourinho don't reflect well on him at all and moreover don't bode well for the club. I've said it many times but the reason Mourinho is so bothered about winding up Wenger is because it makes Wenger more determined to become his antithesis. The more Mourinho succeeds by spending small fortunes on established players and playing dour crap, the more determined he makes Wenger to overhaul him by having faith in his mollycoddled players and by playing care-free attacking football.

Mourinho is very clever, and Wenger is a Retard. Jose knows exactly what to say and knows Le Mug will fall right into his trap.
Example: 2 days ago, Jose says that with 3-4 world class players, Arsenal can compete again next season: Wenger sees this, and that's a sure sign that he will do anything but sign the players needed. Wouldn't want to seem like he listened to Jose now would he! No title challenge next season, Yawn. It's not about the fans, it's His club apparently. Especially funny was mentioning the "competition for places" Yaya "zero PL career goals" Sanogo, loan-boy Lukas and Joel Campbell will bring

Don't forget 3rd choice RB Jenko.....the one season he could have made an impact and he loaned him out to the Shammers !

To be honest if Wenger used his brain he could have a clear out of a number of players, make a little cash off them buy a couple of good players and just about break even without dipping to far into the 'reported' 50M available this summer.

He wont though because he knows better and doing what everyone says he needs to goes against everything he believes in. :banghead:
