On the face of it I would have no problem with that statement because we have enough good players at the moment, and what we need is top quality players to make us real challengers again Of course we all know that he of the forked tongue (wenker) has no intention of buying these top class players and will claim that none are available despite the likes of cech, reus etc moving clubs in the summer We also all know that his history points to a manager that remains loyal to players who are good, and as a result he refuses to bring in proven top quality ahead of them

The cech scenario will be a case in point this summer - we all know that he is leaving the chavs and that he is proven top quality, but le cock will (as he has already said) remain loyal to the keepers that he already has - I agree that ospina has done nothing wrong and is probably entitled to a shot at the number 1 spot, but I also know that proven top quality keepers do not become available that often and I am def leaning towards the notion that we should go in for him. He will also adopt the same stance with the DM and left back positions - the players currently filling those positions are doing a great job for sure, but there can be no doubt that we can and should have better quality filling those spots. Wenker's policy has always been to bring in players of a similar quality to his existing players so that he can say to all players that everyone has a chance to battle for the first team - this is a cowards way of doing things as he lacks the balls to regrade a player to back-up status when a top quality player signs. People will point to ozil and sanchez as contradictions of that statement, but I am still of the opinion that those signings were forced on him more than anything else - I'm not saying that ozil and sanchez were specifically forced on him, but I do believe that the club told him that he had to buy two world class high reputation players, and they were two that were available.

It's the most infuriating thing (amongst a few!) about Wenger. We have the basis of a PL winning team, but that's all we'll ever have under Wenger - Nearly Rans. He simply won't buy in the quality we need because that goes against what his ego dictates, because "other people" have told him he needs to do it. If he cannot build a PL winning team from relative unknowns that he molds into Tippy Tappies, then we will not have a PL winning team, end of.

There's absolutely no way Maureen would sell Cech (or any chav player for that matter) to Arsenal. He absolutely despises Wenger and in no way would sanction a signing that would strengthen us. We saw that with the Demba Ba loan deal last year so not a hope in hell if Cech ever signing if Wenger were to make a bit (which he won't).

Every season there are loads of bullshit rumours doing the rounds about potential transfers, but I have to say that I am inclined to believe the story that cech agreed a deal with the chavs that would allow him to leave this summer to whichever club he wanted as long as he stayed this season to help courtois - it is well known that abramovich has a close relationship with several of the established chavs players, and I could def see him granting him a transfer as an appreciation of loyalty. Of course whether we go in for him or not is another story entirely but I do believe that he is there for us if we want him

I actually think that both Sanchez and Ozil were signed in reaction to what the other teams around us were doing. Spurs finished outside the top four, and spent a 100 million, so we went and got Ozil. Likewise United spent crazy money last summer, so we got Sanchez. Every move we make in the transfer window is to ensure we finish in the top four, nothing else. At some point during the summer we will hear Wenger say that the aim is to win the league, but every action in the transfer window will contradict those aims.

Agreed that Ospina has done little wrong and I wouldn’t have an issue with him being our number 1 next season but the current situation reminds me of when George Graham bought Seaman. He was asked something along the lines of “Lukic was part of the 89 title winning side but you have replaced him, why?” and Graham basically said he thought Lukic was still one of the top 3 keepers in the country but Seaman was the best. The moral of the story being that if you can improve your squad within the budget you have, then you should, even if it harsh on some of the existing players.

That’s the sort of mentality that will drive a club to the next level.

I have a really horrible feeling that come august Sir Chez will be back between the sticks as our number 1,i just don't see Ospina being our no1 in Wenkers eyes.Ospina has been a real steady eddie since hes become no 1 partly because of Coq returning to the team protecting the back four making life a lot easier than sir Chez had it.i don't think I could stomach seeing that stupid grinning Pol back in goal for us,if he plays the cup final we WILL lose
