ROFL. This is superb. Next up on the Asylum files: how Suarez and Sergio Aguero wouldn't be guaranteed a starting spot ahead of Giroud and Sanogo

Spurs finished outside the top four, and spent a 100 million, so we went and got Ozil. Likewise United spent crazy money last summer, so we got Sanchez. Every move we make in the transfer window is to ensure we finish in the top four, nothing else. At some point during the summer we will hear Wenger say that the aim is to win the league, but every action in the transfer window will contradict those aims.
That is quality, fantastic logic.
So we only signed those two because everyone else was signing players.
And this is a reason for criticising Wenger.

Thanks for attempting to argue your point as usual, just snipe at everyone who is anti-Wenger, your usual. My point was that the club only made the signings to ensure that we weren't beaten to 4th spot, and we didn't make an attempt to win the title. My point is proven because we failed to buy a CB in the summer, or a DM, despite the urgent need for both.

It must kill you to see wenger having such a great end to the season.

Great start or great end; never an actual combination of both, eh?

Quite risible stuff saying it must be killing us to see what is our annual good run of form. It does nothing to change the fact that we're merely also rans again. Two perfectly great opportunities presented to us, last season and this, to really have a go at the league title, but the great albatross at the helm did his very best to pull his usual bottle job.

Love him or loathe him the team is doing well and if we can secure 2/3rd place and retain the CUP I would say that real progress has been made.
Problem is I think the improvements are largely despite Wenger not because of him .
Sanchez aside we didn't start the season with a strong enough squad and it cost us dearly .
He tried to sell Coquelin at the start of the season and was trying hard to fatten him up for the January sales when he loaned him to
Charlton and only brought him back because we were down to having no cover !
Bellerin was brought in reluctantly after Chambers was getting beasted on a regular basis and the huge improvement of Monreal has been a surprising but welcome bonus .
Still looking at the team today it looks good , we are now only 1/2 players short of a title challenging unit but we are still light years away from a CL winning team !

What a stupid generalisation. The VAST majority of posters here have clearly stated they are enjoying the good run of form. But that doesn't change the underlying issues that are not so enjoyable - the failure every season to strengthen where it is needed and the failure every season to sustain a real title challenge. We are having our yearly run of form. Unfortunately, form is temporary.

I don't know why you can't see that it is possible to be happy with a series of results in isolation, but very unhappy with the whole season being thrown away because the manager's ego tells him to do things one way and one way only. Every pundit in the land (and on here) last summer identified and stated what types of players Arsenal needed to sign to challenge for the title and Wenger decided not to sign those players.

We're clearly improving and the team is going to get better.
I'm not obsessed with wengers mistakes like many here are. Fuck how miserable are you?!?!!
Constantly moaning about past seasons and not enjoying current form is hilarious.
Signing the likes of Sanchez and ozil is a great credit to wenger now he has money to spend but he'll never get credit from many here.

Laughing gooner, hat's off to you sir. Fighting the good fight, like teaching bricks to swim. Praise Wenger for anything and get sniped at, or slag him off and be one of the sheep hereabout. It's impossible to have a reasonable debate without someone calling you a wind up merchant ( hilarious when the site is full of them not having the insight to see that's exactly what they are)

Something goes awry ::: (a substitution not producing results or not happening because some wise arse thinks it should but "wenger didn't do what I wanted - boohoo" ) and he gets blamed.

Something goes well ::: ( we finally beat a top team. We win some games. We win 9 in a row) and its "inspite of him not because of him"

Two years into a ten year prediction I made on this very thread and I'm clearly going to be right (already being shown to be so) and will return to point it out.

Keep it up laughing gooner.

Now folk will be annoyed and have a go at me. Most won't reply and justify it saying "he's a wum" pot kettle.

Because of not despite Wenger, we are good and already winning things and will be for years to come. He won't be here in a few years but what he has done will benefit future generations of gooners whether their forebears credit him or not. The history books will.

Bye again til next time

I think the question you need to ask yourself is; is it possible for anyone to be that blinkered? Then you might see why so many people think you are a WUM.

As you have basically posted the same old deluded rubbish to provoke/illicit a negative response from other members (as you well know) without qualifying it with one single fact, I'll just add that the only thing that "annoys" me about your post is your continued use of the word "folk".
