This thread wasn't full of herberts and kiwomyas when we had our worst start to a season since 1982-83. Looks like AKB's hibernate during the cruel autumnal and winter months to take on proteinskiwomya wrote:Funny how you never bump into anyone at games as ignorant as some of the posters on here.
Even funnier that le cock decided to spend "big" when his stock was at an all time low...twice...even more side splitting thigh slapping when wenger is known as the greatest tightwad manager that ever lived when it comes to buying players. HE quite obviously had no money to spend 2007-2013 as he'd bribed a ref to outpace denilson on the pitch and that was his spenders gone. And lets not forget that due to the machester clubs inability to see out a season this year its made wenger look like a footballing genius.....i'd say Jardim stays awake at night wondering how the fuck he got the better of wengerLaughingGooner wrote:I guess you go along with the view that Wenger had loads of money to spend between 2006 and 2013.DB10GOONER wrote:I think in your haste to try and be a smart arse you are missing the crux of the issue here. The REASON the board might have pushed for those signings of Ozil and Sanchez was BECAUSE of Wenger fucking around for season after season after season with potential diamonds in the rough like Bendtner, Santos, Park, Denilson and the other players who proved to be bad signings. That's what the media and the fans were giving out about (obviously as well as the failure to challenge for the title).LaughingGooner wrote:Yep, that's right, Wenger had no role to play whatsoever in the signings for those two.xgtdec wrote:your kidding yourself if you think wenger was the deciding factor in either of those signings.....both were the board stepping in and doing their job by TELLING wenger he has to take them.....both at times when the club were desperate for good PR thanks to le clown bringing his good will in a truck over a cliff. Being 2nd is great...no gooner would deny, but a more skeptical gooner might argue that we are 2nd not due to wengers good finish...but due to both manchester clubs imploding when they did!!LaughingGooner wrote: We're clearly improving and the team is going to get better.
I'm not obsessed with wengers mistakes like many here are. Fuck how miserable are you?!?!!
Constantly moaning about past seasons and not enjoying current form is hilarious.
Signing the likes of Sanchez and ozil is a great credit to wenger now he has money to spend but he'll never get credit from many here.
Even though he was in Brazil for the WC, while negotiations was taking place with Sanchez and his agent.
He was clearly just there for a holiday.
He's got his weaknesses Wenger, and he has made mistakes, but have a day off mate.
So if he had no role to play in those transfers, by that logic, he can't be held to blame for signing the likes of Bendtner, Santos, Park, Denilson and the other players who have proved to be bad signings. I presume you'll blame for the board for those signings.....lol lol
I say "the board might have" because no one knows for definite, just as you don't know for definite that the board didn't push for those signings. It's a theory, but given Arsene's "performance" in the transfer market between 2007 and 2013, I'd say it's a theory with a decent possibility of being true. And before you reply with your standard silly "blinkered Wenger hater" jibe, I'm no Wenger hater, I love and respect the man for what he gave our club, but I do firmly believe he is long past his best and should be replaced. I just wish he had retired on the back of the FA Cup win last year and gone with some dignity.
Yep, he had money to burn, but instead of going head to head with Jose and Fergie, he wanted to do it the hard way by taking a punt on potential (and failing admittedly often) instead of buying proven talent.
Just a funny coincidence that once the stadium was more or less paid off, he then started to spend big on Ozil and Sanchez.
But let's let the facts get in the way of a good story??
You probably bump into people who are deluded, and think Wenger is some sort of genius, so being on here is too much of a reality check for you, so you confuse it with others being ignorant. Happy that we are all here to enlighten youkiwomya wrote:Funny how you never bump into anyone at games as ignorant as some of the posters on here.
I have stated my support for wenger on here, even during our 8 trophyless seasons but I dont feel the need to keep repeating the same points over and over again and letting the negativity of this thread overshadow my always optimistic support for the Arsenal.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:This thread wasn't full of herberts and kiwomyas when we had our worst start to a season since 1982-83. Wenger wanted him on a loan deal but united wanted to sell ,Wenger agreed to sign him FACTmarkyp wrote:the board bought Welbeck behind Wenkers back FACT,the great deluded one himself said it.herbert wrote:The board tell Wenger who he has to sign?
and the Arsene supporters are the ones

so we moved to the new stadium to up
the crowd from 36000 to 60000 and to create
extra income so the board can tell Arsene to spend
some fucking money![]()

Who in the world would want to buy Welbeck? There might have been pressure from the board to sign him but the final decision was Wengers
The deal was not agreed until a few hours before the deadline, as Arsenal hardened their initial loan interest into an offer for a permanent deal. “At the start, the player was only available on loan, but after he became available to buy, I agreed,” he said,
Wenger had the same opinion as you,he just wanted him on loan to see if he was good enough for the Arsenal ,but the board bought him behind his back so blame themdefleppardisking wrote:Who in the world would want to buy Welbeck? No we have different opinions. I wouldn't even wanted him on loan. Can't blame the board to buy him behind his back as they are as deluded as Wenger.herbert wrote:Wenger had the same opinion as you,he just wanted him on loan to see if he was good enough for the Arsenal ,but the board bought him behind his back so blame themdefleppardisking wrote:Who in the world would want to buy Welbeck? I think the goal posts have now been moved to a 20 year plan due to the FFP kicking in.Arsene has promised us there are a couple of real talents in the u10's team, once they break through in to the first team we WILL win the league until then there is no way we can compete with city and the chavs as they constantly change managers and those darn managers keep on hoovering up the the trophies,so hang on in there cos 2025 will be our year cos Arsene has promised it so it must be happening the guy wouldnt lie unless of course those pesky big clubs find another way to bend the rulesIkechukwu1 wrote:Actually, honourable mention to the "10 year plan" reference from Steve I. Possibly the funniest loada guff I've ever read! Stalin would be proud LOL. I can imagine those big clubs we moved to compete with having "10 year plans"
Maybe Arsene should take one of those huge jobs he keeps telling us he gets offered, can just imagine Real and Barca fans accepting "10 year plans" (to win the Copa Del Rey)![]()
