THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sunday supplement this morning...
"What do Arsenal need to do to challenge for the title next season?"
"Sign 4 players...keeper,CB, DM and striker...but knowing wenger he'll sign a diminutive midfielder who's good on the ball...to go with the ten he already has"

Sigh!

There's nothing like old school.
Old school doesn't exist anymore.
Sigh.

Truth is we will probably finish second or maybe third but all the top teams will buy top players and because we ended well we won't. Arteta and Flamini will be used to back up cock and that's just one area we will suffer

Then we can work on the posters who think there is only 1 thread on this forum.

And those who use too many emoticons!

Swansea take 6 outta 6 against us.
Lower points tally than last season.
The celebrated "2nd place improvement" that was being prematurely celebrated could easily turn into 4th place with a likely defeat at Old Trafford.
Wenger tactically rinsed out by Garry Monk, for the 2nd time this season. But "who could replace him"

And to think, there are genuinely people on here who think Arsenal are "going to challenge" next season. LMAO.
I mean, it's not like we've got 11 years of evidence to the contrary - right?

Klopp please, Wenger OUT.

I doubt there's many (if any) on here who think we'll topple Chelsea next season. Feel free to do a poll on it of course.

Dreadful first half performance. Far too relaxed and one paced.

Thought we tried to inject pace in the second half, and Sanchez really should have put us in front.

Disappointed to lose, but I think the doomsayers who think we'll finish 4th are being a little dramatic. We'll be 3rd even if we lose at Old Trafford I reckon, as 4pts will seal it.

Any handbrake involved ?

Is now the right time for me to start Arsene's 20 years in charge celebration thread for next year ?

In fairness, results like this have been rare in recent months so lets hope it isn't a sign of a late season collapse and we go and take 4 points plus off United, WBA and Sunderland.

If we do that then we'll claim an automatic CL place which is as good as we could expect in the league considering the title was gone by September

That's 1 point out of 6 and 180 minutes without a home league goal now against two sides who set up the exact same way, with neither the chavs or Swansea even fielding a striker. Sunderland and West Brom will do the exact same thing so I don't see 4 points from 6 being a done deal by any means.
