As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yeah, he can't really say anything other than that.
I'm happy that he's taking the pressure off the players, though

You'd have a point if you opened your flop
What, prey tell, is my 'flop'? (And don't you dare say the thing that hangs between my legs!! That was only the one time!! )

Still can't believe you fell for that old "show me yours and I'll show you mine" routine

He was visibly shaken, cannot even deal with this ....what a joke......God only knows what the players think about him.....he should be the complete deal running a club like the Arsenal, to me thats an embarrassment, cannot respond jokily or rise above it......

I think most of the top managers are like that though (and yes kids, Wenger was once a top manager). They are alpha dogs with very little sense of humour about themselves. For most of the top managers comments like Moronhio's provoke them to a higher level of performance and a drive to ram it down the other fucker's throat. I think the problem with Wenger is that he tends to let it really bug him and then he sulks and lowers his performance.
Carlo is taking a year at least out due to a serious back op. 2017....we can dream. He's also the sort of man that would keep the old duffers like Sir Chips happy.
If I met Wenger right now, I'd only have one question (suppress all the angry ones) - why don't you play Rosicky more, even as a sub?

Yes tend to agree with your comments, definitely think it gets to him deeply, thats what Mourinho is after, but what i am saying is where is the media handling skills, the composure of a manager in charge of a multi million pound business such as the Arsenal, remember when he was sent to the stands at Old Trafford, i felt for the guy honestly it was cringeworthy.....

TBH I don't think Arsene ever had those skills. I think very few managers have them. I remember Rednose banning journalists from Manure press conferences and refusing to give interviews after certain matches if someone had upset him. And then there was Keegan's infamous and very public implosion....

I think Keenan gets too much of a hard time about that. I myself thought it was great to see a manager so passionate about beating the others and not afraid to show it. That's what I loved about the premier league early years, everyone wore their heart on their sleeve. Now everyone tries to be cool and be everyone's friend.

Agreed. Everyone says Keegan cracked under the pressure (and maybe he did) but if Newcastle had won the league that rant would be seen very differently.
And did you see Mourinho and Pullis hugging and kissing before the West Brom v Chelsea game the other night. Sickening stuff. I hate all this old pals patting each other on the back stuff. Today's football is so bland and so sanitised. There's not enough passion or hatred in the game anymore .
No international tournament to blame if the players start the season 'jaded'.
No ECL pre qualifier to blame on for not buying reinforcements early.
Wenger's first job this summer could be finding a new excuse writer.

You would think I'd have learned from my previous experiences!!
