THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

No ECL pre qualifier to blame on for not buying reinforcements early.
Wenger's first job this summer could be finding a new excuse writer.
Isn't there the South American Championships this summer? :? Sure I heard Wenger saying we could be without Sanchez at the start of next season because he will need some rest. :rubchin: :rubchin:

Not sure what you're insinuating about the rest of the story Kiwomya, but having read the article in the Express i can understand exactly what Nuggets is concerned about, article for those who might not have read it:

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football ... fer-window

We all know from experience that 'not upsetting the balance of the squad' or words to that effect previously, can and often does mean limited signings and departures.

Edit: I'd just like to add that over the last few years even when buying some highly rated expensive players our whole club management, not only AW for once, have failed to address obvious deficiencies in the squad, and statements like that above only fill me with a sense of déja vu again.

But we'll see i guess. :rubchin:

Berlusconi claiming Ancelotti and Ibrahmovic will both return to Milan.

So that's quite a spanner in the managerial merry-go-round. Who goes to City now? I thought Carlo was nailed on for that job.

Aaah Ivan Ivan Ivan...he's started the excuses a bit early this summer hasnt he? Shouldn't ST renewals come in first!
Of course Ivan is right. The last thing we'd want to do, is "upset the balance" of a squad that yet again failed to remotely challenge for the title and suffered its worst CL humiliation in years! What we want is, errr...stability.
Still, Arsene's fanboys will be out to do damage limitation PR soon lol

I am normally one of the biggest critics of AW but today he got things absolutely spot on and i salute him massively for it!! :barscarf:

What i find disturbing about it is, today he got his tactics right, his team selection right and even his subs right he also seems to have gotten the teams mind set exactly where they needed to be so why can't he do it more often?

Anyway congratulations to Le Boss today for showing us exactly what he can do with a good team of players when he wants to :D
