Not sure what everyone else's priority list is but i'd say proper CDM, then better than Giroud striker, then GK and then probably LB and another experienced CB.
So anyone want to take bets on what we actually buy?

I worry about that tooGoonerMuzz wrote:My biggest worry for this transfer windows isn't actually who we don't buy, but that Wenger has another transfer window brain fart panic and buys yet another small framed, pacey, technical ACM.. exactly what we don't need but who happens to be available.![]()

Big Victor is the man ! If Coquelin ever needed a proper CDM to learn from then Wanyama is the man - more mobile, 3 x the strength, a more natural linkman between defence and attack and a better ballplayer.g88ner wrote:Just out of interest, are they both better than Coquelin?augie wrote:GranadaJoe wrote:SteveO 35 wrote:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... nyama.html
Damn right it would be nice Victor......if ever I needed a transfer to cushion the hammer blow of Abou's likely departure it would be this one.
Without a shadow of doubt the most impressive CDM display I saw against us this season - muscle and ability unlike the lightweight Schneiderlin that everyone seems willing to blow £25m on
I think Schneiderlin is a better all-round player, but Wamyama really improved last season and I think he'd be a decent addition as well.
I watched wanyama playing for celtic a few years ago and I thought that he was good player even then
Not that it matters like; at the very least, we need to add competition for Coquelin as going into the season with 1 holding midfielder is madness.... yet completely consistent with Wenger's usual approach
And if we do dign him we have cover when he goes to the African nationsSteveO 35 wrote:Big Victor is the man ! 1. What's hilarious about that story is the "Arsenal are locked in negotiations" bit. But why? He has a stipulated release clause. You pay the £25m and the player is yours. Simple as that. What "deep negotiation" needs to be done? Look how easily and quick Chelski wrapped up the Costa signing?
The tabloids have had us linked with every striker and holding midfielder out there, so I'm not sure whether this one is real or not... and I'd imagine the tabloid don't know either. If it is, it's simply because of a lucky hit from their scatter gun make-shit-up-and-hope-it-sells-papers approach
Just out of interest though... rank in order of preference: Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Coquelin.
Giroud:silus wrote:I know I'm in the minority but I don't think a striker is our main priority.
We have goals all through the team if (and I know it's a fucking big if) we play correct formations and tactics, and rotate players according to the opposition....just because a player works well against a team one week doesn't necessarily mean he's the best option for the next game...you are allowed to change team selection for the opposition.
Our priority is a proper dm.
Wanyama, Kondogbia would do nicely...would have been happy with vidal but not so sure after cl final (can't see it happening anyway).
I've a feeling Schneiderlin might happen...he wouldn't be my choice, but still an improvement on Arteta and Flamini.
I get the feeling you're not a fan of Giroud then?Ikechukwu1 wrote:Giroud:silus wrote:I know I'm in the minority but I don't think a striker is our main priority.

1. He has just 6 CL goals in 2 years I believe. Considering that Arsenal usually score loads in the group stage, and considering he's The main number 9, that is an abject record. Luiz Adriano of Shaktar beat his 2-year goal record in 2 matches!
2. His record v Jose is hilarious. In 2 years, and 360 mins against Chelski, he's managed 3 shots on target and zero goals. I mean, seriously...
3. He ended the season without a league goal in over 530 minutes. Again, Arsenal's main number 9 here.
4. He is slow as shite, hence we have no counter-attacking threat and he blunts Ozil. Meaning Ozil can't ever thread a through-ball early, as he has to hold onto it for far longer or look for the pointless pass. He'd have double his assist tally with eg Aguero up front. Instead of Le Carthorse! Giroud also slows our whole play down.
5. As proved this season, in matches against packed defences, you need a moment of inspiration. Aguero gives Citeh this. Costa can get in behind you and punish you (he did that to us this season). Giroud doesn't have the technical skull to beat a man, or shift the ball quick and get a shot off etc. A striker's job is to score, and I blame Giroud (along with mertesacker) for that Disgrace v Monaco.
6. He isn't a winner Giroud, and his team-mates it seems often don't trust him enough to give him the ball now.
The way he's been bitching about Henry criticising him and how "hard" it's been for him is fucking pathetic and wet. So what, Henry criticised you? You're Olly Giroud and who the hell is that Henry fella anyways eh? He only won every single major European trophy going, and virtually every individual accolade lol
