Jack Wilshere

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A rendition of 'Forever in our shadow ...' would have been classier and difficult for the FA to prosecute.

He may be able to plead 'fair comment'.

Is that actually a fact?

Players have been suspended for comments made on twitter so I'm surprised a suspension is outside of the FA's options for Wilshere :o

If you're right then that's good news.

Perhaps he should have retorted with,
"What do we think of baby poo?"

Would he have been charged because of that?

It's soft but he was warned about literally exactly the same thing as last year and looking at some of the outrageous bans they've given out (Rio Ferdinand) hardly out of character.

Onebard said all they can do is fine him for some reason? :? No idea where he got that information from (I've not followed this story in the news) but hope he's right as I was expecting a ban.

Yeah, you are right northbank, but NOT by the FA. They are sticking their noses into something that doesn't involve them and are doing so because of the pathetic media out-cry and to be seen to be doing the 'right thing'.

G88ner,

I think Onebard got the info from a newspaper article (I also read something stating it would be a fine a couple days back) and although I don't believe most of the stuff written by journalists, I can't see how the FA cloud possibly take any stronger sanction beyond a fine. Otherwise where does it end?

Haven't those tossers got anything better to do than landing a misconduct charge at a young player's door for that terrible offence of saying a swear word in public.

Honestly you can shag a granny, piss up an alleyway, fall out of a nightclub with your jeans round your ankles, inhale whatever you like, smoke a shisha pipe, sit in a dentists chair pose and poor tequila down your neck........but commit that heinous crime of saying the word "shit" in a chant that 50,000+ people say every week in front of their kids and you have a misconduct charge.

Almost too pathetic for words

Indeed they did. But they were just as wrong then as they are now.

A slag. easy woman. (er.....I think)

Yeah. I can now confirm that. One of my nephews wrote a song a few years back called 'Sket' and having had a quick listen to it I can confidently say it's about a woman with loose morals.

You are welcome. 8)

Wilshere on chant: "A few of the [England] lads gave me a bit of banter about it. The Tottenham players don’t talk to me!" #Jackpot #Arsenal
