I think it's because none of the players better than the ones we have are "available"!StuartL wrote:Lee1 wrote:Ground Hog day......again! So while he prevaricates, Utd apparently in for Schneiderlin now , Vidal 'too expensive', Higuain for Chelsea....get a fucking move on you twonk
Why aren't these players unavailable ?
Or unable to be contacted ?
Surely, the last week of the transfer window is when people with 30 years experience do their shopping ?
(when the leftovers and cast outs are a bit cheaper)
Also I think Arsene is still using fax machines when everyone moved on with electronic copies years ago

Remember: unless the fans - whose job it is to scout players - can name names better than what we have, then they don't exist or aren't "available"

I think we only need "minor tweaking": a new keeper, a new top class centre half to replace the farcical Merteslacker, a new quality holding midfielder, a top class centre forward, and possibly a wide attacking player. Positions virtually every pundit has agreed need serious improvement. So that'll be just the whole spine of the team then

All very "minor" think you'll agree, given all the league and European success we've enjoyed the last decade

we have an excess of CAM players like Wilshire, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, maybe throw Ox in there as well, plus Rosicky is still a decent option. We have NO options at CDM except for Coq. We have no GOOD options at striker, Giroud is an okay squad player but we all know he isnt good enough to start every game. Its so clear that we need a stiker, a CDM and a keeper.
In defense, I'm fairly comfortable with what we have but we need a replacement for the BFG. Gabriel is a good player I think, but he's more of Kos's mold. We need a big/strong type central defender. And we could probably use a backup for Monreal, because Gibbs sucks.

So. After offering Napoli €10million less than their valuation on Higuain (€40m instead of 50), it appears ManYoo have now swooped in, paid the right money and got the deal done. If that's the case then it's an exact action replay of 2 summers ago, when Wenker mucked about forever with the Madrid valuation, until oil-money Napoli came in and just paid it! So, cross another target off the list...Schneiderlin "too expensive"....hmmm I still think Arsene has changed and will spend BIG this summer with all his new-found wealth!

To have any chance of challenging for the title, we need to make improvements in the spine of our team. We need a proper GK, a commanding CB, a back up DM for Coquelin and a world class striker, but with clueless in charge this won't happen.

You, Henry, and everyone else think the spine of the team needs addressing.BFG4 wrote:To have any chance of challenging for the title, we need to make improvements in the spine of our team. Our back to back cup-winning Genius with 30 years experience, thinks otherwise.

Is this thread the Real Transfer Thread or is it the Virtual One....???
If it's the latter we've just signed Messi....if it's the former Wenger thought about signing Messi on his first birthday...
