Abou Diaby - Injuries Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

should have been released a long time ago by the club, honestley think he will struggle to find another club that will give him a full time contract.

Thank fucking fuck. This man summed up the soft-touch culture at our club over the last 10 years. He should have gone years ago. So what if he was injured? The club treated the initial injury, he got injured again and so on and so on. We are a football club and not a charity.

That would be the ultimate case of negligence, keeping Diaby, Arteta and Flamini is just pure wastage.

Is he really gone?

Having played 16 minutes out of the last 6840 minutes of PL games, Europsport reporting that Diaby is still at the club discussing a pay-as-you-play deal.

Downside- he'll occupy a squad place

Upside- he'll only cost about six quid over the next three years.

Surely Abou would be better getting a 5 year contract at average club then spending those years in rehab.

Since signing his contract at Real Madrid 18 months ago, Gareth Bale has been paid £23.4m, and played 4672 minutes. Cost per minute on the pitch is just over £5,000.
Since signing his contract extension 3 and a half years ago Diaby has been paid just over £11m, and played approx.1350 minutes, at a cost of £8,088 per minute.

Yet Clueless still maintains 'I have some thinking to do about his contract'.
After his outstanding contribution since February Diaby's cost per pitch minute must now be upwards of £9,000.
I have an idea, pay him a new contract based on minutes spent on the pitch, then charge him time spent in the medical centre also by the minute.
By Christmas we should be at least £1m up on the deal.

And yet there are still Gooners that will tell you we had no money because of the stadium move. And I will always respond with; we did have money, but that money was spent very badly by Wenger, extending shit players' contracts and giving pay rises to players that should have been released years earlier - and all to massage his own ego. :|

Podolsk was a shocking signing £10m transfer plus £5m a year wages
Rosicky £4m a year 5 league starts
Flamini must be on £50k a week Arteta £70k.Clear the deadwood out who are not going to start games
