1. Podolski is not a wide player - he is a striker that you insisted on playing wide. He may not be suited to play the lone striker role, but don't bullshit about him being a wide player
2. Kinda hard for any player to have confidence in a manager that plays him out of position or doesn't play him at all
The fact that you couldn't have trust and confidence in him is more of a reflection on you and your managerial ability than anything else and it also brings us back to why you would sign him in the first place
