The Five types of Arsenal fan.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Surely there are more than ONLY five kinds of Gooners....!

There has to be at least 26...Ranging from A to Z

Now I wonder what they could be?? :rubchin: :rubchin: :rubchin: :rubchin:

A = AKB (aka: Creepy Bum Lickers)

I think there is another type

A fan who has followed Arsenal for years, seen good times and bad
Suffered the lucky Arsenal jibes, boring Arsenal jibes, dirty Arsenal jibes
travelled the length and breadth of the country (and beyond)
in wind, hail, snow and rain
who now feels disenchanted with Arsene Fc
who feels treated like a mug, taken for granted, fleeced at every given opportunity
hates what the money driven game of football has now become
but who cannot turn his back on something he (or she - solidarity brother)
has been in love with since the age of 5.

We can't refer to Stuart as Capital L, given that he actually posts some decent stuff and isn't knocking one out whilst playing Call of Duty like my old stalker mate :D

Fantastic photo mate and yes it was 1981
Never went to the away leg but was at the home 2nd leg
We won 1-0 talbot
Just dug out some old programes
It was 230 pound to go on a 3 day air tour with the travel club
Left at 4 pm on the Tuesday
Back at 2-30 on the Thursday game was on the Wednesday
The game in Athens we won 2-0
McDermott scored in the 1st half after being put thru by talbot and Sansom crossed for Raphael Meade who did a kind of over head kick to score it was meades debut and there is a picture in the programme for th home leg that says it was our no 15(he had come on as sub for McDermott) first kick
Fans today do not know ho hard it was to follow midweek away games
They showed one game in the midweek from Europe and they chose Aberdeen v ipswich on sportsnight if they could spare 20 mins between alan minter boxing
I believe that was the commentary game on radio 2(yes no 5 live at the time) as well
If you were lucky your goals were shown n either on the ball or football focus n Saturday lunch times
This where I saw our goals n greece from
God it was exotic

No it was about 60 quid I think ,we didn't get tickets from the club which was just as well because they were put on the side in a concrete bunker.
Weird Old Ground one side was a small grandstand for the Panithinikos Directors holding less than 100 and built out of wood, looked more like a gazebo .
1 huge open end with 3 sections, we were in the centre one all 8 of us with a union jack and no escape if it went pete tong , the main home end bit was to our right but we were in with all locals who whilst not friendly didn’t seem intent on killing us despite the chants of Off Off Arsenal Fuck Off for 20 mins at a time .
The locals were chucking flares around all over the shop to the point where u couldn’t see the teams when they came out for the smoke and several people at the front got taken out by the first aid people after their hair caught on fire !
Loved the euro trips in those days, its easy now by comparison but not as good fun .
