Just out of interest, why do you think that?

It's July 9th, we've only spent £11m and have plenty to spend.

Surely the chances are we will add to our squad between now and the close of the transfer windows?
Aaaah! Young Glass Hoppah - Have you not yet learnt the ways of the Ninja Tight Wad (aka: Tightcunto Wenger) yu may use the term 'only' but - in the eyes of the Master Tight Twat - that figure is HUGE....Even now he has sleepless nights having spent that amount on a goal keeper - regardless of their reputation and obvious worth....

You can light all the candles you want Young Glass Hoppah - But sadly once a Tight Wad Cunto - Always a Tight Wad Cunto....Especially when they are more blind than I - when it comes to Splashing The Moolah. Image Image Image

Yes that just about sums it up, in a comical sort of way....

I can't wait for Higgy NOT to join us all over again. Him and Benzema are clearly trying to break Remy's record for amount of times they nearly joined us

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
Then they'll have to go on to breaking Kalou's record.

Long wait yet, my friend.

I really genuinely believe that serious professional footballers of the kind we need are not interested in coming to Arsenal.

Let's be honest if money weren't an issue would any of us want to play for the Arsenal looking at things from an outsiders point of view, 2 FA Cup wins in 10 years is hardly going to entice players who want to win leagues and much as some of us may deride the competition the ECL.

That i believe is now the real stumbling block for a top professional looking to add to his trophy cabinet i just don't think an FA cup medal is enough of a challenge or incentive.

Again i emphasise looking from an outsiders point of view not my own. :barscarf:

Edit: Only another 53 Day 23 Hrs and 14 Mins until all our prayers are answered though :D
The biggest players don't give a stuff about the FA Cup.
See Sanchez' answer in that interview when discussing his analysis of our season just gone?
"Disappointing" was one word used.
Yet looking at the wider reaction, you'd think we'd achieved all there was to achieve!

Anyone heard anything?

Or know who he is??
Apparently he represents Cavani, Giroud, Fekir, Debuchy, and a few others. Jury is out on how much of a professional bullshitter he is.

Cavani coming to ours and Giroud fucking off would suit me fine. Although rumours are going round about us bidding for Mr big game bottler himself, Higuain. He would fit in perfectly with our bunch.
Cavani has been shit in every single match of his I've watched (which is quite a few in the past year). I don't get what the fuss is about. Would much prefer Lacazette, Aubameyang or Benzema.
Cavani is a better finisher than Giroud, Benzema or Higuain. Believe me, I've been watching La Liga while Maureen was at Real Madrid and there was only a slight difference between Higuain and Benzema - both were (and still are) top class players BUT none of them is a world class player like Suarez. Cavani comes closer to Suarez than any of the three AND is physically even stronger than Suarez.
I've no doubt, that he would improve our game a lot.

I know he (Cavani) gets shunted around playing wide for club and Country, and I know it’s not my money we’d be spending, but if anyone tells me that Cavani is worth £50m (or whatever) then I’m Gordon Banks.

Pass.

Indeed. If I recall correctly we bid £7 - £8m for him which pissed Newcastle off. He then downed tools and went on strike to try and force the move through.

We ended up with Arteta didn't we?

Cabaye went to PSG in a blaze of glory and hardly never got off the bench over there. All the hacks going on about how they cant believe he's gone to Palace and what a massive signing he is for them.....errrr no he's not, he's sh1te.

I like it when karma hits home - the guy was a key player for the geordies but went chasing the €€€ at psg, where of course his talent level was never gonna class him as anything above squad player so he then got pissed off and wanted to bail out
It is for me a similar situation to that of begovic - the guy is one of stoke's main players but wants to join the chavs where he will always be a back up (barring injury to courtois) If I was his international manager I would be phoning him and telling him that he will not remain as his countries first choice keeper if he goes and spends 70% of his season getting splinters up his arse on the chav bench
