Arsenal Away Support Measures

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsenal Away Support Measures

Increase from £2.50 to £4 discount off tickets. More club trains for inconvenient kickoff times. Still nothing compared to Swansea's initiative: http://www.theguardian.com/football/201 ... ay-tickets

We'll no doubt get fleeced everywhere for Cat A prices again :censored:

Fairplay to Swansea for doing that, given that their fans away trips are all quite a trek.

Can't see any of the money grabbing bastards, sorry I mean big clubs, doing that for their fans.

I suppose they could just fuck off and play in their own country's league , against their own teams and wouldn't have to travel that far.

That extra £1.50 is a drop in the ocean, a real embarrassment in light of Swansea's offer. Will amount to fuck all after car parking charges or beer prices creep up around various away grounds.

Besides away scheme (I assume they don't have to pay booking fees)

With Norwich getting back up at the first opportunity all the clubs are each getting a bonus of 1.2 million due to the league not having to pay parachute payments to Norwich. This is enough to finance the £20 away price according to the FSF. As an away supporter of The Arsenal it would be great if we were given a fairer deal. The £4.00 we are being offered is welcome but I estimate £21 per match subsidy could be given without it costing Arsenal a penny if you estimate an average away attendance of 3000.

On the surface the gesture Swansea have given there fans is great but the lesser clubs like them are just as bad if not worse than the bigger clubs when it comes to ticket pricing.

As a bigger club we are seen as a 'Category A' fixture for most yet when the likes of Swansea come to the Emirates they are charged 'Category C' prices.

Swansea away last season was £45 yet when there fans visited the Emirates they paid just £26. £19 difference!

The only way to make it fair would be for all PL clubs to agree one set ticket pricing for away fans.

Also the away scheme members pay £25 at the start of each season as a membership fee to cover the costs of booking fees and etc.

There should just be a set amount of money paid by away fans consistent for every game, every stadium. Around the £20 mark would be fair but never going to happen. £4 off isn't enough for Arsenal supporters considering all of our away games are charged at a Cat. A price
