i genuinely think that the policy at the club is to get as many people as possible to say that we are improving and the more people that say it then the more people will believe it

leaving aside the FA Cup triumphs (well done, we got lucky in a couple of years City and Chelsea didnt take it too seriously) and we have not finished in the top 2 now since 2004. that is not improvement, it is stagnation. ok we are not going backwards, I will give Wenger that but we are NOT improving (and it is now 3 years since we had a proper striker by the way)

Agree with most of that - except the bit about the Mousers. I think they will struggle this year. Rogers is basically a big nosed Sam AllThePies. He is being found out and I think this season will really expose his mediocrity. It's easy to dismiss a well past his best Gerard but his loss will be a massive blow on the training ground, dressing room, and (for some of the more timid players) on the pitch. Their signings aren't exactly world beaters either tbh.

He is being found out and I think this season will really expose his mediocrity. It's easy to dismiss a well past his best Gerard but his loss will be a massive blow on the training ground, dressing room, and (for some of the more timid players) on the pitch. Seriously..........you think Liverpools squad is better than ours?! Building a squad is not the same as spunking a load of cash (again) on mediocre and unproven players.

You do realise they have lost Gerrard (past it, but how many times did he save them?) and their best player in Sterling? Henderson as captain? I struggle to think of any Liverpool player better than their Arsenal equivalent.

Not talking about the victims in general but at least they are trying to be a stronger squad and If they get the villa lad they will not be that far behind us taking our squad to the next level winning the Pl or Cl we need at least 2 more world class players tbh I just can't see it happening

Personally I think that even an outbreak of the plague in our squad wouldn't stop us finishing ahead of the victims - they are an absolute mess and I would say that we have at least 6 or 7 players who are better than their best player

yes he is doing well to remain in charge I will give him that but he is a manager of a supposed top club and WE HAVE NOT CHALLENGED FOR THE TITLE FOR OVER A DECADE! That is not doing incredibly well....

When Ivan or Stan say he is doing incredibly well they are thinking about the value of Kroenke's investment.....and there is no doubt Wenger has done an amazing job of protecting that. This summer he can repeat the trick by signing only Cech, whilst freeing up the likes of the Great Abou, Poldi, Chesney and Joel Campbell from the wage bill. The division we play in is of such an incredibly low standard compared to the Prem of old that we will undoubtedly finish in the top 4 again whilst raking in the rewards from the increased Sky / BT monies, and Puma plus others.

All the while that Liverpool and the Spuds piss about in their crappy grounds throwing wedges of dosh on shit players and selling their only occasional world class ones, the preservation of our beloved Be All and End All top 4 status remains, and in the owner and Gazidis's mind that is "doing incredibly well"

The point was that it was inferred Liverpool were showing more ambition by buying players - which I disagreed with as our squad is massively superior to theirs.
