THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

His post match comments tend to wind me up as much as the game

I know I should stop listening, but I never learn :x
I gave up listening to his waffle years ago but still see his inane ramblings in the print media, so I suppose there's no getting away from it, but to hear the shit from his actual mouth? :suicide:

No, and I stopped receiving his e mail of bullshit a couple of years back too.

Mistakes re-occuring are down to him to put to right
The imaginary handbrake being on is down to him to instruct otherwise
The complacency and lack of effort us down to him to make changes.
The gaping holes are his responsibility to rectify.

All he does is deflect blame and try to absolve himself from any responsibility.

WTF does a manager of a top club actually do to earn his money ?

Glue himself to the bench and berate the fourth official it seems.

Oh.Sweet.Jesus - the king of tippy tappy intricate/overplayed football, is moaning about the effect this type of training is having on the game itself  The stupid c.unt doesn't even see the irony/hypocrisy of what he is saying
It's comical to see him suggest that there should be a school specifically to train strikers - 19 years at our club and the c.unt hasn't been able to produce even 1 half decent striker

Another example of le cock instructing everyone else on what to do to improve the game, without first getting his own house in order  I'll bet that French rapper tart is glad she didn't stay with him because by now he would be telling her how to revolutionise the music industry

For a man who has been a complete failure in Europe, and hasn't won a league title in 11 years, he sure thinks his opinion matters.when will he be told to shut the fuck up.

I think that's harsh, mate.

He's a development manager who enjoys helping get the best out of young players, so it's completely valid for him to share his views on why top centre backs and strikers are in short supply.

If the question was about tactics or what it takes to win the CL then yeah, he's not the man to ask.

I think people should be careful about writing Wenger off as a complete fraud when he's done so much good for the club and football in general. His views matter and he's earnt the right to share them.

If Wenger's opinions were purely on issues that concern him then I would tend to agree with you, but he has an opinion on everything, including on what's going on at other clubs. His ego is so big that he thinks he is wise on everything, and when your only achievements in the past decade is 2 FA cups and VT's then you shouldn't be so confident in your opinions on football matters.

What he's 'earnt' is multiple stays of execution for performances which, at other clubs, would have seen him out on his arse. I don't want to hear his reasons or theories as to why there is a perceived dearth of strikers (from one who has developed none at Arsenal); what I would like, and expect, is for our well-paid manager to concentrate on his bloody job.

I'll be settling for a decent cup run perhaps we'll win The league cup or whatever it's called for a change this time around followed by a heroic dash to overhaul the scousers for 4 th place and last 16 exit from the champs league followed by a new 3 year contract for our genius of a manager

How comfortingly familiar, none of that nasty stressful business of a title race, let us rise above that nonsense and rail against oligarchs and financial doping and bad luck with injuries

I understand what you're saying but Wenger's incompetence at getting a focussed, tactically drilled team onto the pitch each week is a failing in his managerial skills; not a result of him talking about non-Arsenal related football matters with the media.

Oh, and I think the reason we're stuck with Wenger is because there's a power vacuum at our club that effectively makes Wenger his own boss. He hasn't earnt that... he's inherited it through money oriented, passive ownership.

I agree with you (especially the highlighted part); I just wish he would keep schtum instead of pontificating on every possible subject under the sun.
