WEST HAM HOME THREAD
Re: WEST HAM HOME THREAD
Took my wife (a keen gooner) today. We had great seats, it was a brilliant day, the stadium looked fantastic.
What ruined it was the shite that played there!
Wenger said how important it would be for the team to start well. Perhaps he didn't mention it to the team though.
Very, very disappointed.

Results like today don't matter because apart from a few delusional people, no one realistically thinks we will win the league. The club is all about top 4 and nothing else. We have our manager saying we don't need Benzema, when we have Giroud up front, that's the level of ambition at the club.
Re: WEST HAM HOME THREAD
Absolute dross performance, fucking abysmal. And it was obvious after about 15 mins that West Ham would win.
They looked like 11 total strangers out there, as if they'd never even played together. I've never seen so many displaced passes, players tripping over their own feet, standing on the ball, slipping over. Chamberlain the only one to come out with at least a little bit of credit, although even he was guilty for the second goal. Cech will win us 12pts according to John Terry? Well so far he's cost us 2 goals and 3pts. Disastrous defending for the first goal and a wild flap at the ball that Fabianski or Almunia would have been proud of. DOspina or Szczesny surely wouldn't have done any worse.
I've seen Giroud getting a lot of stick. Yeah, he did pretty much fuck all but I don't think he was our biggest problem today. Our midfield was simply non-existent. If you don't start Giroud, who do you start? We have no other options really? Welbeck? Not a clue where he's gone. Alexis? The guy only played in the Copa America final a couple of weeks ago, he's had no rest yet he's on the bench because we're desperate. Theo? Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Benzema? If it happens, he's a slight upgrade on Giroud but he's still not the 30 goals a season striker you need to win the league.
If we don't get our shit together, I can easily see us losing at Palace.

Re: WEST HAM HOME THREAD
Mistake #1: sticking Cazorla out wide left when he's proven he runs the team from the center
Re: WEST HAM HOME THREAD
Oh, and I see Wenger's pathetic excuse was that West Ham have already had the chance to play a couple more competitive games than us?!
Errrmm, their B team got dumped out of the Europa League by giants Astra fucking Giurgiu, who also managed to score 4 more goals against them than we managed. And is Wenger then inferring that it would be beneficial for us to be in the EL 3rd Qualifying Round so we could get a couple more "competitive" games under our belts? I seem to recall him moaning about the fixture congestion every time we have to play a CL qualifier.
Oh, that's right... He's talking bullshit and making up excuses as he goes along.

Re: WEST HAM HOME THREAD
A couple of items after having a lie down after that performance.
1. Cech cannot exclusively be blamed for the two goals. For the first, Monreal just let the goalscorer Kouyate go, horrendous marking. Coquelin playing the whole lot of them onside didn't help either. For the second, Ox has just to get rid there. A few previous posters mentioned his affinity for long dribbling doing more harm then good and that was exhibit A.
2. Ozil did little wrong today and was one of our better players. Having a go at him after this match exposes fairly obvious bias or a simple inability to understand the game past "fackin' run around a bit".
3. Wouldn't have mattered if Benzema, Lewandowski, Aguero, etc. were up top today. The service and movement was so poor that we hardly ever looked like scoring.
4. West Ham are not one of the worst teams in the league. Finished 12th last season and improved over the summer. Payet is an impressive addition.
5. Anyone claiming we will finish as the bottom London club must have a poor grasp of history and/or geography.
6. That being said, I think we could be in trouble next weekend. Early kickoff, manager that loves to get one over on us, dynamic forwards in their XI with a steely midfield and half decent defense. Would look for Sanchez to start with Walcott and hopefully Bellerin is back in the side.
