As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
It's amazing how much bullshit Wenger can sprout, and yet never be called out on it. Apparently signing Benzema wouldn't improve the team, yet when we sign some 2nd rate striker at the last minute, then no one will remember Wenger's earlier remarks.

The shame is that most if not all journo's are so afraid of losing their arsenal privilege that they remain quiet when it comes to le cock, i'd welcome correction but are any mainstream journo's willing to lay into him?? Obviously Jacqui Oatley still top of le cocks banned list

Yep, it used to be Fergie, now it's him. They won't openly criticise him because they have spent years building up relationships and getting on his good side and know that he can turn against them, give them the cold shoulder or restrict their access to players, coaches or training. Just think about how much cock-sucking they have done over the last few weeks. Everyone knows Mourinho is a prick but Wanker has bought one player in, an old Chavs cast-off and suddenly he's going to lead us to glory. The press know he gets snide and stroppy when he's pressed so they give him an easy ride in the hope that he gives them the some half-arsed, useless quote each week.

Agreed. Not in that top bracket that we'd desperately need to recruit a striker from if we are serious about winning the league.
But a fairly significant improvement on what we've got. Think he could hold up the ball effectively and would offer more than Giroud in terms of movement in behind and predatory finishing.
Realistically there are only a few players in Europe who could play the lone striker role for us effectively all season round. You need to be able to hold the ball up, have a great touch, strength, great movement and link-up play, pace and the ability to offer an option in behind - not to mention predatory finishing.
How many players have got all of those strings to their bow? If you ain't gonna fucking sign one of them then end this fucking incessant 4-5-1.

Does anyone really believe Benzema is coming.
Wenger's fucked us with those new contract and made the same mistakes as he did with the golden generation of Denilson, almunia, etc...
He rewarded those who don't question him - anyone who appears to disagree with him gets banished and then sold to get them out of the club. That policy isn't about fcuking the club over but is more about self preservation

Have to agree with that. It's not the wages themselves that bother me, it's the fact that it looks very difficult for Wenger to sign a striker that then demotes Giroud and Theo to the bench having invested so much in them
Then you have Wellbeck; a £17m signing from last summer.
We look well stocked with mediocrity. Useful players, but perhaps too many without the x factor.
Also, Theo talks about wanting to be a striker. I worry he only signed an extension after being assured he'd finally get his chance and that no superstar striker would be signed. - come to think of it, having written those words, I'm seriously concerned that's true
