PALACE AWAY THREAD
Re: PALACE AWAY THREAD
They won today...just about, should have been clear in the first half, same old story second half Palace came back
Team still not right Coquelin was getting over run, had to get his challenges just right, the lad is under enormous pressure in that role
could easily have been sent off
Ramsey seems to have lost any form he had too many flicks, and showboating that don't come off
Still need to get another couple of signings
Early days but really can't see them making a title challenge with current squad

Giroud though did score a quality goal so fair play to him.
Our midfield players need to accept some responsibility in front of goal because they had a ton of chances even down to the last kick of the game from the ox who should have scored if he had just kept his composure.
I too expected a tough game and am delighted with the 3 points BUT, last season palace won more pts away from home than they did at home and they were the only team to have that record

Btw, arteta was the ONLY reason why we held on for the win today - I am not for one second saying that he is the answer at DM, but the difference in leadership, awareness and responsibility he brought was immense

Re: PALACE AWAY THREAD
I thought Ozil was very good today. His work rate has improved and he creates absolutely everything good that we do.
Cazorla was pretty good and showed again why he should NOT lose that position to Ramsey. Thought Ox should have started over Ramsey on the right but it worked out okay. Kos and Sanchez at fault for their goal.
Cech is not giving me and confidence.
Coq lucky to stay on after 45 mins. Monreal was good, Bellerin had a mixed game but prefer him to Chambers or Debuchy.
Would like to see Gabriel get some play time.

From ESPN about Ozil today: "So efficient, completing 54 out of 55 passes -- 37 of those in the final third. He also created five chances from open play. Giroud finished one while others were squandered, but the former Real Madrid man was Arsenal's outstanding player on the day."
That passing rate is brilliant.

Better. Still far from firing on all cylinders but as has been said Palace won't lose too often at home. Had enough opportunities to bury the game and you'd have to hope with more sharpness we'd be more clinical.
Still think we invite too much pressure on ourselves and silly to have no outlet at the end.
Good goal by Giroud but look at the class goal from Aguero with no space and four or five Chelsea players around him. Those sorts of players win you titles.

Re: PALACE AWAY THREAD
When Kos turned his back on the shot today, could you imagine the bollocking he would have got from Adams, Keown or Sol for not putting his face/balls on the line!
A few years ago I would add Bouldy to that list, but I suspect he wouldn't have said anything today.

If that was about Denilson, it would read "So efficient, completing 54 out of 55 passes -- 54 of those were in the middle third, passing sideways or back to the defenders. His 1 misplaced pass was naturally the only forward pass he attempted."

It is a braindead prediction because it means that both Palace and the Scum would have to finish above us which has never happened in the history of the league.hartson wrote:getting COMPLETELY outplayed for the second week in a row i see
looks like my prediction of lowest London club is still on despite some c.u.nt on here saying it was a brain dead prediction

Re: PALACE AWAY THREAD
Much needed win. Had to grind it out in the end, despite a good start where we created enough chances to put the game of of sight by the halfway mark. However, we often witness the chavs and mancs get praised to high heaven by the media for their resilience and determination whenever they pull off similar stuff, so only fair we extend a bit of same to our lot.
On a another note, just where did this shit narrative about not seeing Palace lose much at home spring from and just how did it manage to catch on so well, especially on here of all places where I reckon a fair degree of objectivity exists?

all rosey
And we're above Chelsea and the Scum!!
Nothing else matters.
On another day we'll create a couple of chances and win two nil. Today we could have scored five, from the amount of chances we created. Walcott looked great again on the bench.

Re: PALACE AWAY THREAD
Braindead is generous tbh. Everybody's frustrated that we've not put ourselves in a position to kick on and challenge but how does adding Cech and losing nobody important equate to a 27-point swing with Palace and 28-point swing with West Ham for a start? Beyond that Spurs look worse than they have for years.gp543 wrote:It is a braindead prediction because it means that both Palace and the Scum would have to finish above us which has never happened in the history of the league.hartson wrote:getting COMPLETELY outplayed for the second week in a row i see

The people who insist that this will finally be the season that we finish 7th or whatever are every bit as deluded as those who think we are going to win the league every year.

Re: PALACE AWAY THREAD
Thought Ozil was on a different level yesterday. Everything we created went through him and Alexis and Ramsey both wasted opportunities off the back of his passing.
