Seriously? Ramsey is not the problem? Mate, he is currently our worst player that is getting regular starts. Over elaborates, always chooses the difficult and wrong option, always flicking and backheeling needlessly (90% of which cost us possession), his passing is either underhit or overhit. Whilst I agree that Ozil is not the greatest, and can be frustratingly meh during games, I'd have him in the team ahead of Rambo if only because he can open up a defence with a weighted pass every now and then and certainly loses the ball a lot less when under no real pressure, something Rambo does regularly. :|
Ramsey is being played out of position by our clueless manager. He is not a winger.Ramsey is stuck on the wing to accomadate Ozil. Its not rocket science. Its bad management

Shocking first half followed by a better second one , honestly felt on 70-75 minuets that we were going to win it. Talking points were Ramsey's goal. Well it was onside and that is three big goal decisions that have effectively given the Victims four points out of their seven this season. Imagine if it went against them . Giroud should have had a penalty, he dis nick the ball and was caught late. Apart from that he was a mile off being a quality striker. I am not into the Ozil bashing that is going on here and elsewhere. Seen on Twitter that the legendary Steve Claridge was having a go at him. Yeah I would agree he looks lazy and indifferent at times but he is a class player that we should get more out of, but won't with ridiculous formations.
Ramsey , to me is more frustrating, but again the root of that problem lies with the manager as much as the player. The combined wage of Walcott and Giroud is looking crazier by the week.
On the game Liverpool's domination and chances came mostly from Arsenal mistakes. Settled in second half and I have to say I was impressed with Gabriel. He is twice the man BFG is.
Just how far we are already behind City is as sickening as predictable.
Finally Brendan Rodgers is the most irritating manager in football, smug prick. Jamie Caaaaarrrraghar is equally as annoying ..

DB10, you might have a point when questioning the service that giroud is getting, but the man should at least challenge for them and in particular the aerial balls where he seems to not bother with - if a big striker with no pace is not winning or challenging for those balls, then what the fcuk is he bringing to the table ??

Am shocked that sanchez seems to be getting a free pass on his poor performances

I started the season full of optimism but what a pratt I was to believe that we had a serious chance at the title this year. Only 3 games in and most of us on here who have seen title winning teams many years back, will know this team is many miles away from winning that.
However, reading some of the comments about our players is wide of the mark imo. Yes, I agree that Giroud is another Bendtner. A lucky lucky boy to be wearing an Arsenal shirt. Where does he go during games?
Ozil hasn't lived up to the hype but is that because he needs a mobile front man to bring the best out of him.
Ramsey is a good solid central midfielder, who in typical Wenger fashion has been shafted out wide/out of position.
Chambers had a poor first half last night but got better as the game went on. Lets give the bloke some slack here. He has played a handful of games over the past year and then gets chucked in out of the blue to play CH. Of course he's not going to be on top of his game and it certainly wouldn't have helped playing alongside a bloke who has also only played a handful of games.

We all know the problem lies with one man. We've been here many times before. A generally good squad of players being ruined by one mans arrogance. Would a more tactically astute manager have got a lot more from this group of players?

Any opposing manager worth his salt comes to Arsenal, sets his team up to deny us space, defend, counter attack and gets a result. Our manager doesn't do tactics because his way will always win. :rubchin:
I could carry one about the issues with the French bloke but its same old same old. We've seen it all before.

Don't agree, they showed the line on slysports and there was clear daylight between Ramsey and skrtl's arse. But a tough call for the linesman. But then again weren't linesmen told to give the advantage to the attacker if he looked level or better? :|
I have to admit, it did seem a very harsh decision. Particularly considering the length of the pass and positioning I find it very hard to see how any linesmen could co-ordinate their view of the exact time of the pass and where the recipient was at the same time 20 yards away.

Agree totally, but we all know Giroud is average at best. He'll score a cracker one week, then huff and puff and fluff a sitter the following. My point though is even with a top top striker, the service from midfield has to improve. But again it comes down to Wenger wedging players into his ideal of what the system should be rather than a pragmatic manager looking at what he has and developing a system that suits the players' strengths as individuals and as a group.

That doesn't explain or excuse the stupid decisions, the needless backheels and flicks, the attempts to be Messi when a simple pass is required. He is doing the basics badly. Being out of position doesn't excuse that.

If we aren't going to buy a striker then we have to make the most of what we have. For me it was criminal to leave Walcott on the bench yesterday. When the game is stretched he is exactly the player we need as an outlet.

Also given our first choice CB's where not available, why did Wenger not pick Debuchy an international class defender to play CB. I was also one of these mugs who believed that we could win the league this season.

Cech was immense, more than made up for his mistakes vs Worst Ham. The save vs Coutinho reminded me of a save Lehman made vs Raul at Highbury in the 2006 CL.

Ramsey is by far the worst player in the team. How can he be allowed to CONSTANTLY slow our game down, CONSTANTLY make the wrong choice and CONSTANTLY do ridiculous things that cost us possession? He really let's the team down with his constant need to be the "hero." (Let me take your mind back to West Ham at home when he shot from distance instead of passing to his right where it was open).

Is it his fault he is being played out wide? No, however he shouldn't be slowing down the game or giving the fucking ball away.

On a positive note - Gabriel looks good doesn't he?

As posted prior to the game, and dismissed by Mr Ray C.......

Ramsey has been absolute crap this season so far, these ridiculous flicks he keeps trying, why don't someone just ask him to get the basics right, when you have the ball find another teammate via the easiest option.

I am one of Ramsey's biggest fans. And i am sure in a season or two he will replace Cazorla who will head back to spain for his last swansong.

But what's the point of Walcott and the Ox.. Both talented, both pacey and both can play out wide. But Wenger persist in playing poor old Ramsey out wide. Wenger does seem to have a habit of runing young players. Chambers last season and even last night was being ripped to bits. And left the poor fucker out there to suffer.

Playing Ramsey out wide was an awful decision. He can't play there, he is a centre midfielder and naturally cuts inside and goes towards the middle giving us no width and leaving players like Cazorla and Ozil with no space. Why play Ramsey in right wing when we have 2 right wingers with so much quality on the bench?

That's the confusing thing about Theo's new £140k a week contract.

He appears to be behind Chamberlain and even Ramsey on the right wing. That's not just this season, but the end of last season too, yet for me that's his best position.

That suggests he's been signed up as a striker yet he's so one dimensional that he's a goldilocks footballer, in that conditions must be just right for him to excel (i.e. the game is stretched and there's space in behind) as he's completely nullified when teams sit deep.

That basically means he's not your man in most home games where teams naturally try and deny Arsenal space. But in away games, where we sit back more, Theo isn't a target man who able to hold the ball up and battle the defenders.

But then, Giroud gives us more of a presence in attack but with that comes limited mobility and pace.

It's a mess.

The centre of midfield isn't much better either, where we've got lots of options but no combination that feels right.

Wenger seems to have a very muddled approach to building a title winning team and I'm not sure he knows how to solve it as he's invested so much time, money and tied players down to contracts that has left him with a bloated squad of similar players that lacks the variety of Chelsea and Citeh.

Still, not to worry - Dick Law is about to solve all our problems :barscarf:

Chambers is being unfairly targeted cos he is the easy option imo - in the first half his use of the ball would put embarrass a pub team player but then he wasn't the only one was he ? At times defensively in the first half he looked to be all over the place, but then so did Gabriel and I don't remember seeing bellerin play as bad since he broke into the team (bellerin's passing was fcuk all better than chambers) Can somebody tell me what exactly they expect from a guy that has limited experience (played less than 50 league games in his career to date) and who hasn't started a competitive game in lord knows how long ? Where was his more experienced midfield team-mates in the first half ? They were hiding when they should have been doing more to protect the inexperienced centre back partnership. People are saying that the reason that he appeared to have improved in the second half was that those in front of him improved thus limiting the victims attacks.......doesn't that imply that the midfield hung the defence out to dry in the first half ? How can it be the defence's fault when they were under pressure from relentless attacks in the first half, and yet no credit be given to them for an improved performance in the second half ?

I really worry that we (the fans) are going to ruin chambers career with us before he gets a real chance - many fans are still supporting wally (10 years since he signed  ) even though he has only ever produced flashes of games that suggest that he can live up to the hype, and yet some fans are already writing chambers off after just 12 months with The Arsenal  Chambers should at least be given 2 seasons (and a consistent run of games) before he is discarded because he showed enough early last season that he could be a good defender

Btw, it's good to see the papers picking up on Neville's slating of le cock last night before the match 8)
