The thing is, he's had a perfect chance to go and strengthen Arsenal and then kick on towards a title and maybe do something in the CL, now that Fergie has gone, Mourinho is having 3rd season syndrome etc.

City fans are pissing their pants - everyone around them are shite, and I include us (Man Utd) in that as well.
Because unlike every other top manager in world football Wenger is not under pressure to win a title.Finish 4th pick up £8.5m in wages. As Mourinho said a Specialist In Failure.

But the fans who turn up every other week and keep quiet when we have no ambition must take a lot of the blame. They are just playing Kroenke's and Wenger's game

I started my boycott 6 years ago.I watch games on tv at my local bozzer knowning Wenger and Kroenke are not getting any of my money

Clearest indication that no striker was ever coming was Clueless giving a bang on average Giroud a payrise of £130k per week and headless chicken Walnut £140k per week.

Absolutely criminal how this guy has no reservation in wasting money on proper shit and average players.

I am really bored with this same old thing every year but as far as I can see, signings make minimal difference the way things are.

Wenger runs things in such a way that new players are not allowed to have enough of an impact to make a difference. They are made to fit into the system already in place rather than take things to a higher level.

If we sign a top striker and he has a great season will we challenge for the title? Probably not as we had that kind of striker for a season with RvP a few seasons back and still ended up securing a CL place at West Brom on the last day of the season.

This is NOT an excuse not to sign anyone by the way. The club owes it to the fans to make signings that not only improve the team but give us something to get excited about. To go into a season with the same outfield squad is no acceptable even if you won the title the previous season.

But although I know this is stating the obvious to many on here ... the only new signing that will ever make any significant difference is when we make one in the dugout and that's not happening anytime soon.

11 years without a genuine challenge for the title. In that time, numerous different players (bringing with them different excuses/injuries etc.) One common denominator.

I'd rather sign Charlie Austin for £15m who wants to stay in London, than Cavani for £50m who obviously doesn't want to come, and isn't as good as his reputation suggests. Having said that, I'd probably now settle for Steve Austin, who presumably is still available for $6m? I've seen Austin play a few times for QPR, he is half-decent, reasonably quick and scores goals even for a rubbish side.

I still cannot countenance no one coming in. It would be the most embarrassing position the club could find itself in and I just can't believe they would let it happen.

Why did Podolski go, I always thought he was a decent player?

Fast-forward to Stoke, Shawcross damages Giroud's fingernail and he's out until March, and then what happens? Maybe Welbeck is super-fit after his long holiday. Maybe Sanchez will play centre-forward.

And what happened to our need for a DM? All those names over the months.

6pm shoul be interesting if nothing happens. Can't wait for the official statement.

can you just go and fuck off.
you are a Man United supporter, maybe go and comment on your own site for a change.

if you were an Arsenal supporter you would have realised by now that we don't attempt to challenge for the title anymore, we aim for 4th and we are very good at it ok. now go back to redcafe or whatever it is called and see whether you lot are going to sign anyone in the striker department. after all Giroud has scored more PL goals than Rooney this season :barscarf:

not going to happen though is it.
we are a very well run club which has got our transfer business done early this year
City will win it, Chelsea will rally for 2nd, United will be 3rd because they will just keep spending.
we will finish 4th with Spurs and Pool behind us. so utterly predictable and boring

Why spend 100m just to earn extra 4m prize money.

Not worth the outlay..
