Wenger will decide when he leaves - his current contract up until 2017 is irrelevant

even if we get relegated this season then he WILL NOT be sacked

the board will consider him the best manager to lead us back into the PL

Reasons
1) he has the full support of Kroenke who is not bothered if Arsenal get relegated
2) he has the full support of season ticket holders who will continue to attend if Arsenal get relegated

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor, 31, is understood to have consulted his pastor about a proposed move to Aston Villa before deciding against the move. (Daily Telegraph)

I didn't know the Togolese word for Agent was Pastor!

It has reached the stage that for real change to happen, we need to lose games and plenty of them. What is the point in beating Stoke and other shit teams in order to qualify for the money league, and in turn justifying Wenger's position at the club. I want us to drop out of the top 4 and maybe then we will see Wenger properly questioned.

There is a piece in a few of the papers trying to claim that Wenger tried to buy Cavani (another one for the virtual team) but said no because they asked for £50million....

£50 mill might be too much for him at his age but what the fuckk did Clueless expect...???

FFS

"Arsenal refused to pay £50m for 28-year-old Paris St-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, 28, as he has no sell-on value"

So we now have to endure our main 'striker' and I use the term loosely here - impersonating a Lamp Post...and the alternative being Welbeck - who has the first touch of a drunkard...Why the fuck doesn't the clueless *word censored* give Campbell a chance - If not why the fuckk did he bring him back just to warm the bench (sometimes) instead of selling him?

I'm not his agent, but can anyone tell me why no one went in for Charlie Austin at £15m? He scored 18 PL goals last year and has a better than 1 in 2 career strike rate. He would have been an option, and a keen one, not someone who wishes they were home in Paris / Madrid / Barcelona etc...

He also looks as if he is trying his best the whole time, and doesn't lie on the floor flapping his arm around if someone touches him.

I've seen him at QPR a few times and I am not saying he would have been the long-term answer, but a good option when it's 0-0 after 60 minutes. He's a genuine centre-forward and I am not convinced we have any of those currently.

Martial at £36m? You couldn't make it up. Mind you, cheaper than Di Maria.

Finally, let's assume we have £100m sitting around. We are probably getting maybe 1%-2% return on it if we are lucky. It could be less if exposed to the markets. With player price inflation these days, isn't it better to by someone for a few mill, develop him a bit and make a decent return even if it doesn't work out, by selling to Norwich, West Brom and the like? Or is that just naive?

the bit in bold is total rubbish I'm afraid. Of course he'd be bothered if we got relegated. It would reduce his revenue.
Sometimes people on here spout some real nonsense.

Could be his much rumoured lack of knee ligament. Okay, £15m does sound cheap but not if his knee cracks under a Ryan Shawcross type 'challenge'.

He defends Arsenals transfer policy. But it's not Arsenals transfer policy is it, it's Wenger's transfer policy.

Basically he has proved himself a safe pair of hands to Kroenke and Stan rewards him handsomely. Wenger's entire allegiance is to Kroenke. And he still has the legion of fans from the "In Arsene we trust" brigade The only way this is ever going to change is if we finish below 4th. Otherwise this will continue until Wenger calls time on it. Everybody, even the players at the club, spout out the same tired mantra. When they speak it might as well be Wenger talking. And NOBODY EVER predicts we will win anything. It's always "we can do very well"..." we can go far"...... blah,blah,blah.... Kroenke has a man at the club who operates better than his bank manager and it is not going to change.

Good point. The best way to show dissent towards an organisation is to write them a cheque for £1035+ annually. Stan will need a new undies after that.

I'm sure most arsenal fans probably expected that window but I'm surprised. It's seemed in recent times with Ozil and Sanchez that Wenger has started to accept that he needs the odd big signing so I thought he'd get at least a keeper and a striker this window, it felt like the purse strings were being loosened now that the stadium has been (presumably) largely paid off. Had he done so you might have had half a shot at the title this season, instead it looks like 3rd or 4th place. It's okay for the money men but can understand the fans being sickened by it, not what the sport is supposed to be about and certainly not when you're paying the highest ticket prices in the land
