Jack Wilshere

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sums it up exactly.

Jack showed a lot of promise when he first made the A team but has never gone on to fulfil it. His injury record is atrocious with no assurance that it'll get better, so I think we'd be best getting rid of him to anyone that offers us money.

I wouldn't sell him at all. Wilshere is class when fit. Will take carzolas place. We kept hold of RVP for 7 years during injury, still got rosicknote. Surely his luck has to change with injuries.

I actually like Jack and although i get where you're coming from Nos, there's no way his luck is going to change whilst at Arsenal for two reasons, he's not going to be coached correctly so as to prevent him getting these knocks by holding onto the ball too long and more importantly our :cussing: medcial team!!

The truth is when he was fit he wasnt starting. He was fit for the cup final. This wait till he gets fit is never going to happen.

How many fucking seasons does he have to spend consistently injured before people stop wondering when this 'bad luck' will end? Regardless of whether or not it's his fault it's time to realise that he's a fucking crock, pure and simple.

It's nothing to do with luck, mate. He plays in a way that leads to injury and he is not physically equipped for the PL tbh. Sad but true. :( I'd love to see him make it but I don't see it happening for him. :(

Look at his injury list;

– January 2010: Left hamstring
– November 2010: Back
– August 2011: Right ankle
– February 2012: Right foot
– October 2012: Right ankle
– February 2013: Left thigh
– March 2013: Left ankle
– May 2013: Left ankle
– July 2013: Illness
– August 2013: Right ankle
– September 2013: Right ankle
– October 2013: Right ankle
– November 2013: Left ankle
– December 2013: left ankle
– January 2014: Right ankle
– February 2014:Left hamstring
– March 2014: Left foot
– October 2014: Left knee
– November 2014: Left calf
– November 2014: Left ankle
– August 2015: Left leg
– September 2015: Left leg

Purely on his footballing ability he has the potential to be as good as gazza was in the 90s. I have loads of time for Jack, but fear we will see a very talented footballer not fulfill his potential.

I have always liked jack and loved his attitude, but I too believe that it is high time that we cut our losses with him - even if we are to believe that our medical team are a lot of the problem, we then have to accept the fact that our medical team aint gonna change so he will always have these problems with us and keeping him aint going to change that.
For years many of us have called for the termination of diaby and rosicky's time in our club, and to treat wilshere any differently cos he is a "local" (ish) boy, would be hypocritical imo
