Though the transfer window is a distant memory, didn't someone say they would only consider buying players who would improve the team?

How about a player who can stay on the field for 90 minutes, and not have a hissy-fit midway through the first half because he's got a bit of a monk on about something or other?

Weren't any of those players available at all?

embarassed to say, way actually looking forward to tonights match all day. was hoping we'd pump them. even in my deeply cynical wob mindsight I never actually imagined we'd lose, perhaps draw

is it mad that even after 9 years of underachieving Arsene FC still manage to find ways to dissapoint?

For the record I used to say that I would rather finish 4th in the group and be out of Europe altogether, than to finish 3rd and gone into the Europa league........I no longer feel that way. What difference will us being out of Europe make ? Will it magically turn us into genuine league challengers ? Not a fcuking fear of it  Will it force le cock to buy quality players in January ? Don't make me laugh  Will it force wenker's sacking ? No.Fcuking.Chance :banghead: :banghead:

For those of us who refuse to add to the pension funds of the ex victim players on bt, can you tell us what he said please
Sorry Augie,

My reading of it was that Arsene's early success was a least partially attributed to the team he inherited, I can't remember his exact words but it was something along the lines of when their was a problem on the pitch that due to the back 5 and outfield players being the characters they were if things weren't going well then they'd take matters in to their own hands and adjust tactically themselves. (This is something i've been pondering for a while but never actually brought up because i thought i'd get slated, but i have to agree i honestly wonder how successful AW would have been in his early years if he hadn't inherited the team he did).

Lineker also pressed him on the transfer market debacles over the years and he basically said what many of us on here have been saying for years that Wenger is stubborn and when pushed will always dig his heals in.

Rio was very critical as well and made the point that with all the weaknesses apparent tonight that it was suicidal only to buy a goalkeeper and that switching 6 players for a CL match is either madness or complete arrogance, again my words not his exactly.

Did you all know that Arsenal have won 76 Champions League games which is a record for a club that has not won the trophy.. And we have the absolute cheek to moan about tonight's result instead of celebrating that fine Champions League record. It is up there with the consecutive years trophy and the calendar year cup.

Do we have a virtual trophy cabinet at the bowl to keep all these many trophies in?

Tonight would be a watershed moment at most clubs, losing to an awful team, but at Arsenal it will be business as usual. Tonight showed the ridiculousness of Wenger not signing a striker, and leaving us with a French donkey up front. Giroud is horrendous, Mis-controls every pass, and needs 10 chances to score 1. It makes me laugh when Ozil is criticised for his performances, it's completely forgotten what he is dealing with up front. I noticed several times tonight when a through ball was on, but Ozil couldn't play it due to donkey's lack of pace.

I didn't like the arrogance of making so many changes for the first CL game of the season when it's away in Zagreb.

not losing was always going to be important given we're in a group with Bayern, so I'm perplexed by the number of changes and in particularly the decision to drop Coquelin in favour of Arteta tonight of all nights :o

People can say what they like about Coquelin, but the energy and drive he has in midfield is key to the way we play. Arteta hasn't got that and I thought it was a very bad call.

Giroud was dreadful. In fact, worse than that: he sabotaged us tonight with his selfishness. Needs to be fined and I'd consider dropping him from the squad against Chelsea; he needs to learn he either plays for the team or fucks off.

Good finish by Theo. To be fair to the lad, he misses a lot but he does score goals.

Anyway, dreadful performance. Nice to see them rally with 10 men, but it happens too often. Slow out the traps, half arsed and slack; then try and make up for it when it's too late.

Win at Chelsea needed please.

Tonight's result has spoilt our 'dead rubber' on Matchday Six mate.....we might have to win there to qualify for Thursday night football now.

Le cock interviewed on Irish TV has given the following explainations -

1. We were unlucky

2. We came up against a committed Zagreb side - in other words ours wasn't committed

3. Their first goal was offside - of course no mention of wally being offside for our goal

4. Question about too many changes to the line up he said that many of the players who came in played exceptionally well (would that be debouchy, arteta and gibbs ?? ) He also said that the one's who didn't play well were the one's that had been playing regularly

5. Asked about if tough preparations for English teams contributed to the 3 losses and he responded by saying those two precious words..........SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES   :barscarf: :barscarf:

I seriously hate the man. With a passion. I don't use the word hate that often when referring to a person. BUT I fucking HATE the man in charge of this club.

this club is such an embarrassment. as much as I hate gazidis and co, the real cancer are the season ticket holders who are funding this fucking shite. I'll try and refrain to post what I really think of them and wenger as I know this place is heavily moderated these days... but fucks sake. absolute shadow of a club we are

Too right - season ticket holders are funding this.
Every year they renew and NOTHING changes !

I dont think the club are bothered about last 16 this year though as they can get the category A game in for the match v Bayern.
No doubt the sheep will turn up en masse for that one. Stupid :censored:

I wonder why we care so much?? We cannot win it, we just cannot, we are nowhere near good enough. We have the same chance as WBA winning the PL. The only way, and I mean the ONLY way, anything will change at the club is through finances. Kroenke doesn't love Arsenal, he doesn't even love football. He doesn't give a flying fuck whether we win anything or not. Arsenal is a business and CL is the target set for Wenger. Deliver that year in and year out for the least amount of outlay and Wenger will be handsomely rewarded. The fans can go swing. So if Wenger gets punished & Kroenke gets pi$$ed then lets crash out of it. We not going to win it so the earlier we go out of it the better. And if we miss out on that Spursday night shit as well that will be an added bonus. Can you imagine us in that anyway, Wenger will treat it like he treats the Capital One Cup.
