Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho : "Good victory, we need to win matches. We won twice in three days, we kept two clean sheets. We controlled the matches.
"I don't have a view on the sending off. Man of the match for sure was Diego Costa. He brought everything to the game."
Man of the Match!! Should have been playing in the Rugby World cup, Crunt!!!

Nothing in there to disagree with. Costa should have been sent off before Gabriel had a chance to react so his sending off should have been a moot point. As soon as the arm went into Koscielny's face happened he should have walked......Costa even gave Stevie Wonder a second chance to get it right by chucking his body into him off the ball and knocking him to the ground.wilko49er wrote:Manager reaction

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "I would not like to be Mike Dean tonight. Costa twice should be sent off. He hits him in the face in purpose. In every game he has aggravation and he gets away with it because of the weakness of the referee. We knew before the game he is only looking at that.
"Gabriel should not have responded at all but the two sending offs for us and Costa staying on the pitch is a shame."
Fair play to Howard Webb for also pointing out what many seem keen to overlook, which was the imaginary card waving after 2 minutes. Still, as we all know....that's too early for a booking isn't it. They might as well restate the laws of the game to say that in the first 20 minutes you can do whatever you like
Re: Chavs season re-launch
Agreed. Gabriel was having a good game and I love the way he plays.SteveO 35 wrote:Mate, he did all of that in the first half and that's precisely why Costa got wound up to start with. That's the irony of the whole thing...he had Costa bossed and was pissing their lot off with some proper old skool defending. Costa's reaction to Koscielny was because he was being roughed up for once and if Dean did his job properly, Costa would have walked first and everyone on here who is quick to hang Gabriel would have been praising him to high heaveng88ner wrote:He didn't stand up to him. How dare he be so selfish as to stand up to a bloke who goes round waving imaginary cards, elbowing people in the face and shoving people......and then reacts to Gabriel clipping his big toe by surrounding the ref with his pals trying to get him sent off.
Nice to see Wrighty moralising in the studio too - the man who never lashed out or had a petulant reaction to something in his career?
I'm delighted we've got so many saints on here - the confession box must be empty round your way
I like the way Gabriel plays and it's gutting he's now banned as I'd rather see more of him in the team before Per comes back. But it was selfish; there's ways to stand up for yourself without gifting pricks like Costa and Mike Dean the opportunity to send you off.
Strong challenges and reducer tackles are the way to do it!!!... not standing on his toes with the ref watching!

But all that work undone in a moment of stupidity. It's ridiculous as it's so petty and harmless, but if the ref see's you step on someones toes on purpose then you're in trouble. We all know that. It's like taking your shirt off after scoring; yeah it's harmless but it's a yellow all day long whether we like it or not.
I just don't understand why he did it in front of the ref? and Mike Dean of all people!!- why not be sly about it? - very very stupid and needlessly put us down to 10 men.
Reducer tackles and rough play aren't deemed as bad to referees as standing on toes, or tapping someone in the face or taking your shirt off after scoring, so you have to be smarter about how you play.
Re: Chavs season re-launch
Costa's petulance was more obvious, and right in front of Dean so lets not kid ourselves that he did anything clever out there. If Costa does that in the Allianz, Nou Camp or Bernabeu, the cheating c.unt in front of him rolls around, 10 other players surround the ref and he would be off - absolutely no doubt about it, Instead Kos did nothing about it - he reacted perfectly....so his non reaction saves Costa. To me its so bloody obviousg88ner wrote:Agreed. I am so fed up. I hate that plank Mourinho and his smugness. I hope the git loses the next 5 matches and gets sacked and leaves England forerver.
Re: Chavs season re-launch
Well i reckon Leicester and Manures games are much needed wins. Lets see what Le Plank does with the totscum and Olympiacos selections.

Cheer yourself by throwing darts at a picture of Gabriel - you'll find plenty of pals on here - in fact you could have a tournament !casgooner wrote:I am so fed up. I hate that plank Mourinho and his smugness. I hope the git loses the next 5 matches and gets sacked and leaves England forerver.

Wenger will be getting a letter from the FA on Monday asking him to "explain what he meant" by those comments.wilko49er wrote:Manager reaction

I don't totally blame Gabriel, he should have walked away thoughSteveO 35 wrote:Cheer yourself by throwing darts at a picture of Gabriel - you'll find plenty of pals on here - in fact you could have a tournament !casgooner wrote:I am so fed up. Re: Chavs season re-launch
Absolutely. I don't understand Koscielny's non-reaction at all. Bizarre and helped Costa immensely.SteveO 35 wrote: Costa's petulance was more obvious, and right in front of Dean so lets not kid ourselves that he did anything clever out there. I don't think anyone would say Costa was clever. He was idiotic and lucky that the ref somehow missed it

Regardless of what Diego Costa did, you have to make it more difficult for the ref to send you off; especially away from home at Chelsea. Keeping 11 on the pitch is the only important thing and, like in Zagreb, we're down to 10 men in the first half for really silly, preventable reasons and lost both games.
I don't like Kos' non-reaction but at least he wasn't sent off for reacting. Gabriel gave Mike Dean a free ticket to send him off. How did he not see the ref stood next to him?

I take from this that Gabriel would make a shockingly bad burglar. He'd probably break into a policeman's house through the kitchen window whilst the copper was cooking his sunday lunch

Re: Chavs season re-launch
It was a decent game that might have gone either way until the first sending off. We weren't playing out of our skins but I felt we would have had a good shout of getting something out of it. Costa should have been booked for waving an imaginary card in the opening minutes and from that point he was going to do all he could to wind us up.
I like that Gabriel has a mean streak to him, something we have needed for a long time, but it's hard to keep your cool when someone as odious as Costa is getting away with murder.
Had the ref made the right decision, Chelsea would have been the ones down to ten and we might have gone on to win. All in all really frustrating. Small consolation would be to see the FA take retrospective action against Costa.
On another note, Ramsey really did have a poor game today, had a great chance to create something in the first half and dawdled and lost the ball, generally anonymous throughout other than when he made a mistake.
Also hope Coquelin isn't out for too long. His injury had to be the reason why Wenger subbed him!

Re: Chavs season re-launch
What gets me is the new rule about captain only approaching the ref, not the whole chav team. Dean should be sanctioned and demoted.
Re: Chavs season re-launch
Just saw a wonderful Opta stat!
Diego Costa: 0 fouls

Diego Costa: 0 fouls
