but why so petulant when I tell you the Ox is naturally a centre midfield, you continue to argue even though I present facts.i don't get it,everybody is entitled to their opinion but you cant argue over Fact.northbank123 wrote:Are you thinking at all before you post??
Labelling somebody pro-Wenger for challenging your view is petulant beyond belief. I've said in an earlier post today that he has got things wrong with Ramsey, Ozil and Cazorla playing out there so that bit of your post is nonsense. Nowhere in any of my posts have I denied that Wenger has a serious issue with playing players out of position, in fact I acknowledge it.
What you're basically saying is that if you are pro-Wenger you have to agree with any criticism of him. Grow up. I'd be surprised if you found another poster on this forum who thinks that I am lenient or wavering in my assessment of Wenger.

Because whilst he might want to play CM that doesn't make it a fact that he should be playing there and is being played out of position. Your opinion is obviously that he should be playing there which is a perfectly legitimately opinion but I am pointing out that it is nothing more than opinion, not a fact.
Certainly not the same as Ozil, Cazorla and Ramsey who to my knowledge have played in central roles their entire careers and have never shown anything as a winger.

Re: The OX as CF????
I would have little problem with trying him as centre forward for the final 20 minutes of a game we are 3-0 up in, or in a training game, but without seeing him play there have no idea how it would turn out.
My concern is that whilst he likes a long distance shot, he can also too often overplay the ball, hang on to it too long.
That is a part of his game he would need to get rid of to be a successful striker.
Possibly he can, if his overplaying is a result of not being sure where to pass it, then if his only thought was when to shoot it might work out for him.

OX as a CF
seen it all now. I have this awful feeling the bloke will only ever be a squad player and could turn out to be our Arron Lennon.

And yet you want to try him up front? Sorry, it’s a no for me; things are desperate enough without having to watch yet another Wenger experiment fail miserably.markyp wrote:northbank123 wrote:He doesn't understand how to play out wide at this level yet, regularly complete abdicates his defensive responsibilities (regardless of how much that is down to an obvious lack of coaching).
I don't have any desire to watch an inexperienced player who has never been a striker at any level try and do the job in the PL.
Ox needs to learn his craft in his favoured position before we start pissing around with playing him in the middle or up front.
he doesn't understand how to play as a winger because he isn't a winger,he is a centre midfield but as usual Wenker has him doing his apprenticeship out wide like all players seem to have to do

The man with boneitis as our midfield enforcer?

Re: The OX as CF????

Sad that we're even having this discussion.
Don't remember anybody asking whether we should try Ray Parlour up front. Then again we did used to believe in having decent strikers.
