Victims being taken to penalties by the mighty Carlisle.
Re: Scum away (Capital One Cup)
Giroud had an absolute mare, Ramsey almost as bad and Debuchy was poor too; played like he had lead in his boots.
I thought Chambers did ok (o.g. aside) and Ospina did what was needed. Pleased for Flamini too
Delighted tonight.

He plays for the ££££ and don't be under any illusions thinking otherwise - a quick look back at his employment record will show you the importance/priority he has given to money in his career

Re: Scum away (Capital One Cup)
Giroud was completely absent throughout the game I felt, bar the miss of a half chance. Ramsey, despite being played in his favoured position, was nowhere to be found; how I miss the old Ramsey who scored goals for fun it seems!
I feel that Ox should start games much more regularly. I'd rather see him on the right providing width, drive and pace than Ramsey who has been out of form for months on end now. In terms of midfield I do feel that Flamini is a better option than Arteta, and wouldn't mind seeing a combination of Coq Flamini in certain games; I feel it would provide a more stable basis allowing our attacking from four to get forward, along with our fullbacks.
Also I have to add that it's rather reassuring to have a decent back up in the goalkeeper department!

usually quite a lot on sale and should go to reds, better still often cheap as well. WBA away went to open sale (Jonny_Gooner wrote:What's the situation usually like for away league cup tickets? I live in Sheffield currently and me and my Arsenal supporting mate would love to go!

That said was Bradford the last time we travelled to Yorkshire in the credit card cup

I'm hoping that they go on general sale. Hillsborough is a stone throw away from me. If need be I'll get a ticket in the home end and risk a beating!Theoperator wrote:usually quite a lot on sale and should go to reds, better still often cheap as well. I had hoped Scum would go to reds but the allocation was pants. Then again imagine how many signs would have been bwoken if more AFC were allowed in

Re: Scum away (Capital One Cup)
There's a reason he was called Flamoney. Having said that the second was class. Great clearance from Gibbs in the second half and apart from Debuchy the defence was solid. TBH I felt for Giroud with that half-chance, his only hope was to hit it at the keeper and hope it went between his legs. Sometimes it goes in, sometimes it doesn't. It was a great run to get into the position also. I don't know why he likes to control the ball from a goal kick/long pass and take it into the corner and then fails to try and get a corner though, that really pissed me off.
Big allocation I'm guessing for Sheffield Wednesday. I fancy that TBH, good train trip!

Which Ramsey of old is that? He's had a mere 6 months purple patch run at a time we were flat track bullying a set of favourable fixtures. Even during that time, he still looked ordinary the minute we faced any semblance of a proper opponent. Prior to and beyond that, he's been a most infuriating player.Jonny_Gooner wrote:Giroud was completely absent throughout the game I felt, bar the miss of a half chance. pleased for flamini,i never bought into him leaving for the ££££ ,weather he did or not he clearly loves playing for Arsenal, its a shame more of the first team don't show the same passion,he has his limitations but you know you will get 100% from him,i reckon those two goals will be the last for the club,if so not a bad way to bow out is it

Delighted with the win, always delighted to win there. Thought Martin Tyler was at his best(worst) last night again.. On the game thought Ospina done well, he is good on crosses , with one exception. Debuchy looked so unfit, Chambers had a decent game . Ramsey began to play when Sanchez came on. Wasn't convinced by Ox , thought Campbell was dreadful. Giroud had another game to forget. Flamini took his two goals well and will probably start at Leicester if Coq is unavailable.

Re: Scum away (Capital One Cup)
Well, that's me totally wrong. Flamini is the new Bergkamp. He MUST start every game now. The man is simply at a Messi level.
Let's not lose our shit over one very good goal and one absolute gem of a goal. It's churlish to say this after he has scored one of the best NLD winners ever but he was very very average last night. His positioning is woeful. Like Mong before him, he doesn't anticipate or read the game, he reacts, often too late. But last night he actually did what Rambo is supposed to do, following in and attacking the box and he did it well. Fair play to him.
Arteta was better in that he is more disciplined but once someone drops the shoulder and goes then Arteta is a spectator as his legs are gone.
Deebooshy had an absolute mare but he hasn't played in months so jury still out.
Ramsey was utter utter dogshit again, laying rest to this myth that if he gets to play in his preferred role in the centre he will morph into Bergkamp. I think we have to be honest and accept that Rambo had his "Rob Lee" season in the PL and it's over. He will go from average to good to poor over the course of any given season but he'll never hit the heights of 2 seasons ago again.
Giroudzema was appalling. He's in such a dip in form that nothing he touches is going right. This could last a couple more games or could go on for months. And even if he gets his form back? He's not gonna net more than 12 - 15 PL goals anyway. With Walcott the alternative how the fuck did we not sign a striker in the summer?
Joel Campbell. Fuck me but he is deeply deeply unintelligent on a football pitch. What is his actual strength? Holding the ball? Getting in behind? Running at the oppo defence? Aerial prowess at set pieces? Running off the striker? He does none of those things well. He's like a 14 year old kid playing on a team whose coach doesn't know how to coach. Oh, hang on....
Ospina did well enough. Couple of minor clangers but mostly solid.
The Big German Pussy still scares the fuck out of me the languid way he strolls to clear (and got caught last night).
The Ox again is all about no end product. He drives at the oppo and then fluffs the final ball or shot. Is it a confidence thing?
Any fucks we beat the scum in their toilet and Captain Stupid scored a beauty to win it!

Captain stoopid?
Marseille mercenery?
Mr pointy-man?
Statue-man?
Hang your heads in shame all you gooners ahatin on my boi flamster!
Single-handedly got us a great win against tottenham and deserves a new contract and bumper pay rise.
Wenger was right all along. Who needs a striker or DM when we've got Flambourghini in the squad. Get that statue up outside the Emirates!

Re: Scum away (Capital One Cup)
Fucking fantastic. Couldn't have seen Flamini being the hero but he fucking was. Greedy brainless mercenary he is but a goal at Stamford Bridge in a big game in 2008 and now two at the Scum. And he was rewarded for busting a gut to get on the end of attacks, the sort of dynamism that we seem to miss too often.
Ospina was superb too. Can't remember the last time I saw an Arsenal keeper come and take so much responsibility in the air. He was coming miles to catch crosses and a great punch near the end - I like the bloke even though he isn't good enough to be number 1.
It was a piss-poor game quality-wise - the only player who looked a cut above for me was Chamberlain although unfortunately he couldn't do anything with it. That said he had no help whatsoever - Giroud can fuck off back to whatever tinpot French holiday resort ball club he came from - if they'll have him. Anybody who thinks we can win titles and CLs with this bloke as our #1 striker needs their brains dashed against a brick wall.
Debuchy was scarily bad - not just getting skinned but over-committing so much that he was letting Rose in behind time and time again. For the goal both full-backs just stood off their men as they'd rather let them get an unchallenged cross in than roast getting skinned - complete lack of confidence in their defensive abilities. Don't blame Chambers really.
This Ramsey farce has got to end. Whatever you think of his ability and whether he can ever recapture his form of 2013/14, he has been playing so poorly for as long as I can remember yet somehow remains an automatic starter. The best thing for him and the team is for him to spend some time on the bench.
Sanchez coming on changed the game. It was embarrassing how much better than anybody else he was, looked like he was playing against Sunday league players.

Excellent win, thought we'd bottle it.
World class save from Ospina with shot before Kane was offside.
