As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

G88ner. When I told you there were Actually Arsenal fans out there claiming Jose was jealous of Le Tool, you asked whether these fans existed and if so, where they were. Well, here's your answer! Looking forward to you reply...
I dont think he is jealous of him exactly, but maybe he sees the stuation Wenger is in, finish 4th = job for life, and compares it to his own.
If he finished 4th once, never mind perenially, Abromovich would have his finger on the trigger.

forget jealousy of any sort, mourinho thinks we are a joke, how can a club have ambition if it fails to sack a manager who only manages 4th every year, the bottom line is we are a total laughing stock with mourinho right at the front orchestrating it
As much as I'm generally happy to see anyone criticise Wenger, in this instance I just find Mourinho pathetic. He wanted any excuse to steer the conversation towards Wenger. Why would he give a shit about another managers position at a club or the amount of pressure(or lack of) that manager is under.

Well said, but unfortunately I reckon you will have upset some of the Jose lovers on here ,the man is a classless piece of scum.He was never asked anything about Wenger or arsenal so not quite sure why he felt the need to go down that route.
But I have to laugh at a man with a superiority complex. He is clearly a better manager than Arsene but can only concentrate on his weaknesses. Jose is so frustrated that he is always expected to win trophies and that even a league title buys him 12 months. Arsene's last league with has bought him 120 months.
If Jose wasn't such an arsehole to so many people, he would be wanted far longer. He should have good relationship with Roman but it's probably only a platonic one.
Mourinho is a Grade-A *word censored*. But, I like the fact he's bringing attention to the fact that Wenger is under no pressure at all, and that at any other "top club" he would have been sacked a long time ago. It's something we've been saying for years and it's good to finally see it being raised more publically, from someone else....

Ok mate, lets look at what I actually said....
Ok, I'll take your word for it that many fans think Mourinho is jealous of Wenger. But before I join you in ridiculing them for their bizarre view, did they expand on what they meant, because it lacks context?
It's clear that Wenger has dined out on the invincibles season for years. Would it be a surprise that Mourinho (or Fergie) were jealous that Wenger managed to achieve a season unbeaten but they couldn't? - not really; it's human nature and they're winners.
But, even if Mourinho is jealous of the invincible season, that doesn't mean he's jealous of Wenger in all areas of management, and I find it very hard to believe any sane person would believe Mourinho would swap his league titles and CL winners medals for Wenger's set of medals.
Which bring me back to you mocking these fans. If you're laughing at them for thinking Mourinho is jealous of Wenger's unbeaten season, then I think you're wrong. A season unbeaten is a dream season; what world class manager wouldn't want that?
But, if you believe these fans are saying Mourinho is jealous of Wenger full stop, then I simply don't believe these fans exist... or if they do, they're probably kids or WUMs.
Fair enough then G88ner.
BG4: I see what you mean but I'm quoting from the Guardian article here and this bit is the real issue for me:
******
The tit-for-tit maintained a familiar acrimonious theme between the two, with Wenger having suggested earlier in the day in his own media briefing that Claudio Ranieri, whose Leicester team Arsenal play on Saturday, was responsible for laying many of the foundations for the success that Chelsea have enjoyed over the last decade. The implication was very much that Mourinho had inherited a side ready to dominate.
“When Claudio left Chelsea he had built the team that was so successful at the start,” said Wenger. “I remember them finishing second in the league with Ranieri and the team was upcoming with young players like John Terry and Frank Lampard, who were the players that contributed to the success of Chelsea.” Mourinho declined to comment on that issue."
******
Now. There's a massive problem here as yet again, Le Tool actually started it yet again. It's clear what he meant by that comment and is hilarious bullshit a he seems to totally forget that his main success was established off the back of him turning up to a team with the best back 5 in Europe, Dennis Bergkamp, Ian Wright and possibly the best natural leader you could ask for in Adams!
His success was off someone else's base. Sure he sprinkled some flavour afterwards, and sure he told them to eat less saveloys and drink water etc...but GG foundations aside, he has 1 league title off his own labour (and fair play for that) and...errr...oh yeah sod all else. He's proved over a decade he can't build a title winning side and evolve.
Still....
First I thought ....Mourinho jealous of Wenger? =
Because Mourihno is a far superior manager and he knows it.
Then I hought....Mourinho jealous of Wenger? =
Because Wenger has been in an obscenely well paid job all these years where winning is not in the job criteria.
I now think that possibly everybody is jealous of Wenger.

Mourinho is an ego maniac, yes looks like he's obsessed with Wenger, only he knows why
Does not miss a trick to turn his press conferences onto an attack on Wenger, seems petty and childish
What about Rodgers at Liverpool or McLaren...nothing said
He is a grade one nutcase, but then again not the first manager showing those traits, i honestly think Louis Van Gaal is a head case as well

I was listening to a podcast with Rafa Hogenstein today and more or less affirmed this view - at least in Germany. He thinks that Arsenal fans should be furious that we aren't doing everything in our considerable financial power to better the team. He went on to say that Wenger doesn't do enough from a tactical perspective (no surprise to posters here) and it is probably Kroenkes mandate that trophies are fine and well, but as long as the Champions League money rolls in, Wenger has achieved his goal. He was quite interesting and if anyone fancies a listen, it is the Bergkamp Wonderland podcast. He is the first 45 minutes or so and expands on a lot of good points.
Everything that you would read on here bar a few posters who seem happy with the status quo. But interesting that some journalists that aren't trying to sell a book off the back of Arsenal or Wenger are happy to tell it how it is.
