True..but then as host of that channel he might have certain guidelines?I Hate Hleb wrote:YEAH BUT TOM WATT ALSO RATES EBOUE AND THINKS GILBERTO IS STILL A GREAT PLAYER, SO THAT'S NOT SAYING MUCH!!![]()
ALTHOUGH I LIKE HIM, TOM WATT IS ONE OF THE ROSE-TINTED GLASSES BRIGADE - NOT SO MUCH GLASS HALF-FULL, AS ONE BRIMMING OVER - AS WITNESSED BY HIS PERFORMANCES ON ARSENAL TV. HE DOES FIND IT HARD TO SAY ANYTHING CRITICAL ABOUT ANY ARSENAL PLAYER.

MAYBE, BUT HE CERTAINLY WOULDN'T BE COMPELLED TO JUMP UP AND DEFEND A CERTAIN PLAYER WHEN A CALLER OR GUEST WAS BEING CRITICAL OF THEM, AS HE OFTEN DOES.
THEREFORE I'M ALMOST 100% SURE THAT WHAT COMES OUT OF TOM'S MOUTH ON TV ARE THINGS THAT HE GENUINELY BELIEVES, AS OPPOSED TO HIM JUST TOWING SOME KIND OF 'PARTY LINE'.

Cuellar was winning plenty of headers last night, but its not just heading its the reading of the game, intercepting passes and blocks and tackles. He was immense last night in all areas of defending. He would be a fantastic signing imo.augie wrote:Swale_Gooner1985 wrote:if its Centre backs we are looking for - two words ALEX SONG! Where was that tremendous leap last monday night in derby where he not alone didnt jump off the ground for the cross when derby scored their 1st goal but he also turned his back on it

We have enough average players on the team as it is without putting song in one of the most crucial positions in any team
Have to also say that I didnt think a lot of cuellar in the air last night although I missed the 2nd half. In the 1st half and in extra time I thought it was the fiorentina players who were winning the flick ons and knock downs to onrushing players

Winning headers for a centre back isnt a good starting point? is that a joke? its one of the most important factors, the amount of times Gallas and Toure fail to leave the floor really annoys me, its nice to see someone get off the ground and get some distance in a header! The rest of his game is good too, he always finds a pass out of defence and isnt afraid to play so fits into our style nicely1 We will see a lot more of him im sure!
If you are talking bout Cuellar I never said winning headers was or wasn't a good starting point. As I said he won plenty of headers last night and his all round game is excellent. He is a quality CB.Swale_Gooner1985 wrote:Winning headers for a centre back isnt a good starting point? is that a joke? its one of the most important factors, the amount of times Gallas and Toure fail to leave the floor really annoys me, its nice to see someone get off the ground and get some distance in a header!
