Previous Arsenal v Everton matches (Highbury / Emirates)

As per....

A few to look back on with happy memories....................

An Ian Wright spectacular past a bemused Neville Southall - who was at the time about the best keeper in the land.

Wrighty also struck 4 against them all of which were assisted by Limpar a couple of years after.

There was also the majestic Tony Adams finale to the crowning as champions

And a quite stunning 7-0 drubbing too

One of my personal favourites was a night match on the Littlewoods Cup semi final back in 1988, they were a top team back them, we had won the away leg 1-0 and demolished them at home 3-1 in a game when we missed many chances (even a pen I think) but sealed a return to Wembley in style.

Your memories ladies and gentlemen please.......

Was at all of those you listed above - many happy memories of Everton games.

Balancing up was the 2-2 draw in the snow a couple of years or so back when Denilson keeled over on the halfway line.

Two of the most unhappy memories I have of them were in the mid-late 80s......getting a 6-1 dicking up there when they were good and we weren't and Lukic making a right old fuck up at THOF and Wayne Clarke lobbing it back over him from 40+ yards out

But that League Cup win watched by 56,000 odd has to be the pick of them for me......people on the North Bank roof again that night !

apart from "that sums it ALL up"...

one of my favorite games ever at THOF (RIP) was the last game of 2002 - 4-3 , we'd just won the Double Double, Dennis and TH14 scored - to secure the Golden Boot away from RVN, and it was the last game for Lee Dixon who imho was a true Arsenal hero and should of won 100 + caps for England as the best right back in the country for a decade.

amid the jubilation, his walk around the pitch after the game was poignant as a final goodbye to the Famous Five, Adams already having hung his boots up a week before ( despite what wikipedia says Adams did NOT play, I was there...)

To be there and see Lee pick up his FOURTH league title was an honour and a privilege.

A feat which he shares with big Tone, and one not likely to be repeated by another Arsenal player for a very long time.

LEE LEE, LEE DIXON.

The Ian Wright goal was incredible.
It shocked the crowd, so good was it that there was a slight pause between the ball crossing the line and people celebrating.
People looked at each other as if to ask "Did that really happen!"

So, happy memories to come on Sunday or another performance to forget ?

Last year we looked like sneaking a win in an unconvincing performance only to let in a goal 5 mins from the end.

Giroud nearly won it in the last min with an excellent swivel and shot but it crashed against the corner of post and bar (while Giroud fell to the floor in anguish, giving his best Madonna impression)

Usually we find them tough opponents, who if we don't give 100% effort we will find difficult to break through.

Was privileged enough to be at that 7-0 match. The epitome of a masterclass from Bergkamp and the final league game I saw at Highbury.

Here is an individual match compilation of Bergkamp's performance. Superb isn't the word. That Vieira goal is one of my all time favourites: the brilliant one touch passing move followed by the most effortless dinked finish you'll ever see.

Round about Christmas 1991, Ian Wright scored all four goals in a 4-2 win, with Limpar getting four assists.

I still think that was his best goal for us.
The degree of balance, timing and co-ordination, and the sheer audacity of it...incredible.
It would be in my top five all time goals by any player.

^ The array of goals Wright scored is just incredible - not even Henry could match him for sheer variety.

I still think his best/my favourite goal of his was that looping half volley he hit against United; it came out of nowhere and the fact he even executed it whilst having a defender right on top of him is incredible - he also made Schmeichel look like a tit. 8)

Ian Wrights goal was unreal - against Southall (the scruffy fucker). For some reason thought it was in front of mural :? When I saw it again there, I was delighted he got to celebrate that amazing goal with the fans in THE NORF BANK :barscarf: :barscarf:

Adams goal is straight out of Roy of the Rovers stuff. Nuff said :barscarf: :barscarf:

And thanks for Kevin Richardson. Instrumental in winning the league that year :barscarf: :barscarf:
