Re: Everton at Home
First half was shocking but found ourselves two up. Slack goal to concede before the half. Last few seasons we would have let that slip. Didn't feel like a win but the table shows its another 3 points. Worry will always be the lack of depth on the bench.

I just hope he can quickly settle and establish himself before ramsey recovers - as if - IF he can stop being inconsistent then Ox can make the flank position his own...also he does it better then mr flick & miss.GoonerMuzz wrote:I know many will disagree but i'll be interested when Welbz is fit again because as much as he is poor as a forward he is actually quite good both as a wide player but more importantly tracking back and helping out defensively, both Ox and Ramsey will have to step up their game if he shows any form when finally fit again.
This means this injury period for Ramsey is extremely important in terms of make or break for Ox i reckon!

Re: Everton at Home
It was lost/given away by Ox - Cech had the shot covered - it was a deflection and no team on earth can account for those...we deserved the win - we were good in the first half...our tiredness (both physical and mental) allowed them back into the game - I just don't get how you can say we were shocking in the first half, in fact some of the link up play between Ozil, Alexis and Santi was was sumptuous.slevinlacey wrote:First half was shocking but found ourselves two up. All that matters is the 3 points and to keep the momentum and confidence strong.
Re: Everton at Home
Decent performance I thought - bit of a slow first 30 minutes but didn't think they really threatened us seriously until the last 15 mins or so and their goal was a total fluke
That back 4 is undoubtedly the one I feel most settled with although Bellerin had a tougher time than the others because of the Ox's inability to back him up at times. Gabriel will go on to have a good career with us I hope and looks better every time I see him.
Although Giroud's lack of pace can never change, he won just about every aerial ball yesterday and made the world's greatest £35m rated centre half look like a rag doll at times.
The Calendar Year trophy looks increasingly like coming home !

I know he's not our answer to a world class striker, but I still think he can do a good job as a sub with occasional starts. He offers something else if we're struggling with fatigue or injuries. He has a good work rate and often tracks back to defend. He has scored some good goals for us, non more important than the winning goal against United in the cup. Got to love him just for that. It's a shame he's been out for so long as I was looking forward to seeing how he would develop in a different set up to United's.northbank123 wrote:Fuck Welbeck. Another failing striker playing out on the wing - just what we need.casgooner wrote:I know he's not our answer to a world class striker, but I still think he can do a good job as a sub with occasional starts. Some of the perceptions towards refereeing in the media are ridiculous.
Yesterday Alan Smith complained about Barry being given probably the most obvious and deserved second yellow all season. And today Jason Roberts (would never have a media career if he didn't constantly cry foul about racism) and Danny Murphy both bemoaning players being sent off for professional fouls as it ruins game - the alternative of course being letting them get away with a yellow making it a no-brainer 10 times out of 10 outside the box.

To me it doesn't matter if it's the first minute or last minute of a match, the referree is there to implement the rules of the game - a player on a yellow needs to keep his head and not dive in to avoid the possibility of the 2nd.northbank123 wrote:Some of the perceptions towards refereeing in the media are ridiculous.

Re: Everton at Home
Watched the second half of United v City today - fuck me what a poor game that was.
Pellegrini is fucking useless tactically. They have regularly eviscerated United at Old Trafford by counter-attacking with pace. United are too arrogant to play negatively at home and consequently leave themselves wide open. They are obviously going to miss Aguero and Silva but Bony stayed on for nearly the whole game despite being fucking terrible. Lazy, didn't hold anything up, made no decent runs and awful on the ball.
Yaya Toure was his usual lazy petulant self as well. The fact that he has been nominated for World Player of the Year underlines what a farce those awards are. Prick.

Re: Everton at Home
People see different games. First goal was slack because Chamberlain originally should have passed to bellerin. He took the shot on, fair play he got back but then let Barkley skip past him way too easy. Deflection was just unlucky but ox should never have let him get such a clean shot in.OneBardGooner wrote:It was lost/given away by Ox - Cech had the shot covered - it was a deflection and no team on earth can account for those...we deserved the win - we were good in the first half...our tiredness (both physical and mental) allowed them back into the game - I just don't get how you can say we were shocking in the first half, in fact some of the link up play between Ozil, Alexis and Santi was was sumptuous.slevinlacey wrote:First half was shocking but found ourselves two up. Passing was neat and tidy but zero threat until the goal. Seems the biggest moan on here is too much neat play with no end product. 2nd half we got it together and had them on the ropes.
3 points is three points however you look at it though.

Gabriel is a nasty fecker for any opponent to come across. Looks agressive as heck, cant understand what oppos are saying and gives as much as he gets
Really optimistic with Coq and Gabriel that at very long last we have some people with Coconuts as testicles and not ping pong balls. There are days when we would have surrendered or melted away in rain like that
Such a huge shame that with Citeh and Manure being toilet, Chavs cruddy that we just all know and feel here we go again..
What will happen to this forum if we DO win the league BTW

Good win but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We've been here before so many times.
I'd love it to be true but let's see. Injuries, form, mentality, etc....
Nevertheless a very good couple of weeks.

Re: Everton at Home
Giroudzema was exceptional, bossed their CH's like they was his bitches, won everything in the air, held the ball and laid off superbly, and a brilliant deft header for the goal. That's Giroudzema though; no consistency, brilliant one week, absolute rubbish the next, like the majority of average PL strikers - and the PL is full of them. Still, he was superb on Saturday.
But for me MOTM was Ozil. His passing was sublime again, so intelligent. He controlled the pace of the game for large parts too. I agree 100% with whoever above said Ozil looks different class without Rambo crowding him. TBH we look a totally different team without Rambo - far more decisive on the ball, retain possession better, more fluid in our passing.
I dunno, but Gabriel and Kos together make me a whole lot less nervous than when Mert is in there.
The Ox looks like a player waaaaay off form. He is struggling with everything; ball control, his touch, decision making, where and when to run. There is the making of an exceptional talent in there somewhere but at the moment he is pants.
Great win. But we all know all this good work will be undone by Wenger in the January window. And that is the worst thing about it. We have the guts of a PL winning side and 3 top signing would possibly see us do it, but hey - you can't tell Arsene that...
