you can't really argue with the results over the past month.. hopefully he can continue to prove me wrong next month too.
Fallen into the trap there fella
its ok I dont for a minute think we are title contenders :D

all i am saying is that the last month has been impressive - injuries and lack of transfer activity will come back to haunt us in the end of course
Im sticking my neck out here...i think we can make a serious challenge for the title

Chelsea are in crisis Man utd and Liverpool are shite.....of course City are up there, but haver also shown frailties...the title is there for the taking....will be interesting if we can sustain a challenge, yes squad is thin and have to be lucky with injuries, but why the Fuck not!!!!

Not just the tackle but also the reaction after..I don't think I have seen that type of emotion since Keown/Adams era..

You got it mate, he's really fired up same as Coquelin.....i love that attitude....thats a winning mentality

In fairness we are only in October. Apart from the inevitable injury to one of our main players to come, i still think January will be our undoing. I remember in the 2007/2008 season, we reached January in a great position to win the league, and in typical Wenger fashion, he ignored the need for a striker and then we had Eduardo's injury and Adebayor's goals dried up. I'm expecting something similar this time around when we will stick with only Coquelin as our DM and when he is injured we will be fucked.

Exactly, we have been here before, but you would expect strengthening of the squad in January from any manager of a team seriously considering a sustained title challenge, with our light weight squad.
Before the start of the season was commenting on lack of cover for Coquelin, but got shot down by posts promoting Arteta and Flamini as able replacements :?

I also remember being top of the league in January 2014, when people were wondering if we could push on for the title.

But AW never signs anyone during the January transfer window to cover for injured players, and you soon remember that he's happy just to settle for a top three position, at the end of the day.

The club's only ambition is to qualify for the CL, and sometimes we forget that.

even a broken clock is right twice a day,FFS weve had a good month that's it,look at West ham they are doing the same does that make them title contenders and world beaters as well?? seems like everybody here has short memories, this is Wenker we are talking about, the bloke that just when it looks like the wheels are about to completely fall off again we pull off a shock result, and just when it look like we could mount a serious title challenge we totally capitulate, its been the same for 11years now.like BFG said itsonly October,i will judge him in may

Both are on loan, TBF Gnabry hasnt done much other than to warm the bench, 2 appearences for WBA  . Akpom has scored 2 in 15 games, so not really set things on fire at Hull- can we recall at a moments notice? In any case he plays Wally or Giroud as sole attacker so we are 2 away not one.

The overall squad is "short" but it seems more in the DM or CB positions rather than a striker that we are short. (I know we need a decent striker....)
Yep, I know they're on loan but couldn't have thought much to loan them out. Gnabry in his couple of appearances before his injury looked solid. Winning a pen v palace and the finish v Swansea away. He'd definitely be useful enough in some of our fixtures between now and the window (or when our new transfers return from injury). Still surprised we loaned to a Pulis team. Hopefully can recall but I know we won't.

Somehow need to get through from now until international break with no injuries or suspensions.

Simply this.

The title is definitely there for the taking and inspite Wenger this team should be good enough to secure it this season.

I've got a lot of hope for Gnabry. The kid is fast, strong, tricky, direct and will scare defenders shitless.

Not opposed to loaning him out as game time would do him great. Waste of fucking time farming him out to a club that would just rather play cloggers for their perceived reliability. I don't doubt that there would have been a few PL clubs who would have snapped him up and played him regularly instead. Just like loaning out Miquel to Leicester for that season was a waste because he barely played.

Might as well have stayed with us where we have more games, slightly thin on the ground in terms of attackers and have been playing an out of form CM wide right. I'd take Gnabry over Ramsey there every time.

what exactly has he done to prove anyone wrong? was it his total refusal to bolster the weak parts of our squad yet again in the summer by not signing a back up for coquelin and a new striker? was it the total lack of tactics at chelsea, his embarrassing comments in the media about his success with us in europe? perhaps it was our worst start to a CL campaign in our history?

nope, it's just a purple patch where our great players have got great results for two months. we know we have a great squad as it is, but maintaining a title challenge is not something we have come remotely close to since 2008. I don't know what it is that has fooled people that things are different? we still lack tactical awareness - did you see the last ten minutes against everton on saturday where our full backs were bombing on offering no protection when everton countered?

right now we are two injuries away from flamini being our DM and campbell being our backup striker, I don't know how that can fill anyone with confidence :|

btw anyone here who has such flimsy opinions to feel that they have been totally proved wrong after one month is mental. seriously rob that post reads like a joke mate

Bloody hell Norris  Rob said Wenger is proving him wrong i.e. he's surprised we're top of the league after 10 games (and probably didn't think we'd beat Bayern). He hasn't said everything is rosey; just that we're doing better than he expected.

That's a fair enough comment, surely? Not many predicted we'd be (joint) top after 10 games so credit to Arsenal when it's due.

And I agree with Rob - lets hope Arsenal continue to prove us wrong next month i.e. lets hope we're still top! 8)

but who said being top at october will not happen? it happened in 2013, 2010 and if memory serves me correctly 2007.

it would prove me wrong if we were top at the end of march, let alone may. we all know we can gather enough form to get into this sort of position, it just doesn't mean anything yet :?

however, to clarify: we are top of the league say we are top of the league :barscarf:

EDIT: WE AREN'T EVEN TOP  well that makes my last post all the more relevant then :coffeespit:
