Your first Arsenal game

Your first Arsenal game

Post by Sutch »

Which game did you go to first ever?

My first was in the 2002/2003 season, 2-1 at Highbury against fulham, shit game TBH, Pires scored his second goal in the last minute to give us the win, sat in the Clock End for that game, will always remember standing outside the East Stand for that one before the game, David Seaman is a legend.

Sheffield Utd at home in the league cup, October 71, awful 0-0 draw, hav'nt stopped coming to Highbury/new place since. Wish I was still coming to Highbury, Highbury was Arsenal and Arsenal was Highbury. The new place is a soulless concrete bowl. Can't go back I know but I feel a real sense of loss, more this seaon than the first at the new place :(

Arsenal v Sunderland October 14th 1967 East Upper. George Graham scored the winner. Ball hit the left hand post at the Clock End and he nutted in the rebound.

Versus Oxford in November 1985.

Davis and Woodcock scored for Arsenal, Jeremy Charles son of former Arsenal player Mel and nephew of former Leeds and Juventus player John Charles scored for Oxford.

This was a week after losing 6-1 to Everton.

January 1st 1998, Arsenal vs Middlesborough 2-1.

North Bank Upper, saw them sky a penalty into the stands!! Great memories.
