THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Would be amazing if we can go into the last 16 stage with our manager having signed a new long-term contract...........
that's a piss take yeah??id love us to be in the last 16 with a decent manager at the helm, one who can guide us all the way cos Wenker aint ever gonna do it or haven't you realised it yet
He's too stubborn, too loyal to players........but you'd think we've been battling relegation the last 10 years.

Maybe we should have sacked him two years back, got Van Gaal in, given him £250m to spend. Happy days......
That would have been much better wouldn't it........
Plenty of positives from tonights performance, then we have one of the most ridiculous posts I have ever read on here. :|

Van Gaal has got absolutely nothing to do with Wengers failures, Arsenal or anything. What a stupid post. :|

Of course he is a WUM.

That's not to say that his views are insincere but just about every post is antagonistic and/or designed to provoke people.

Why the fuck can someone not express different views, sounds like Wenger the dictator in a different guise
Christ try reading a post before getting so pissy.

I said I don't think that his views are necessarily insincere but he is the most antagonistic poster on the forum. WUM stands for wind-up merchant, and it seems that every single post is aimed at winding people up.

Not directly aimed at your post mate, i like to see different views aired, after all this is a forum, creates open debate

No one is saying that pro-Wenger posters aren't welcome on the forum, in-fact it's probably better to have more people like this on here because it generates proper debate, instead of us all repeating the same things continuously about Wenger. The problem is when there is zero attempt to have a legitimate debate, and simply a poster who wants to snipe at everyone. Tell me what debate you can honestly have about someone coming on here after the Olympiakos game, and saying that other posters will probably mention Bradford and Blackburn now.

Thats a fair point, and well made, TBF i don't always read all the posters

will keep a better watch out in future

It's one thing having different views, it's another being a WUM akb just because he thinks it's cool to go against the grain whilst not making any logical or valid points to defend his constant rimming of Wenger. He's the sort of person that drinks in the Tollington and talks about being ''buzzing'' after beating the mighty Dinamo Zagreb at home.

One win (albeit a very impressive one) against Olympiacos and we get instant comparisons to the big name manager who is currently struggling the most i.e. LVG

Of course Ancelotti wouldn't be a valid comparison - a serial CL and domestic league winner. Not a chance he could have masterminded a win against mighty Olympiacos.

Walcott , in raptures after the game, was saying neither Zenit, Barca, Real, Wolfsburg..... would want to draw us after witnessing that performance. That's how deep the delusions run at the club.

What will happen is we will get battered by Barcelona and the pro Wenger boys on here will come out with "we got beat by the best team in the world, we can't win every match" :banghead:

I think he's right.

Why would Real, Zenit, etc. want to draw Arsenal instead of Gent, Roma, Benfica, PSV or Kiev?

I know we're not the greatest of teams but we're not as shite as some people like to make out.

Perhaps the emphasis is more on the "...after witnessing that performance". That would lead me to believe that the rather delusional Arsenal quality of letting one good performance go to their heads is prevalent.

If xiss doesn't mean that, then I'm with you. Not literally though.

Oh yes Im terribly sorry, I forgot. There is no-one who could possibly ever replace him. We could end up with someone like Van Gaal who hasnt won anything after a season and a half. We might end up top four ffs. Be careful what you wish for.

Nope there has never been anyone who could have replaced him and because we might end up with someone who wins fuckall for a couple seasons we must never replace him.

You are misunderstanding above, or just sensationalising....just saying there is a lot of dross out there posing as managers, most are ego maniacs...they have to get this appointment right.........

I would like to see Wenger move on and replaced by Ancelotti or Guardiola or someone of that statue and gravitas, not sure if that will happen though

As we all know only one man decides when Wenger goes.....Mr Wenger

I assume we've all read, and had a laugh at this?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... nager.html

Apparently all is forgiven, Wenger's a genius and we're gonna stroll to the CL title. All because we got out of the group stage on the final day against Olympiakos.

Dont think so redarmy. Maybe you should explain yourself better. You were backing up Laughinggooner who wants Wenger to get another contract and you posted that we may get a worse manager than Wenger. (Completely omitting that Wenger is and has been shit for a decade and that we could have been more successful under a replacement.
Redarmy wrote: Not really stupid at all, valid point who will we replace him with, it is possible to get worse, and its our board would not put it past them...VAN GAAL is another ego mad tosser, not unlike MR wenger

Then, conveniently you decide that we should replace him, forgetting that its also quite possible that Pep or Ancellotti may not be successful with us. Make your mind up ffs.

What about the old Michael Jackson one that was outside Fulham.......

Would we notice the difference ?
