As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Electric atmosphere at the end of the game, everyone in the stadium singing, first time I've been to a last home game of the season, sat in Block 19 right next door to the away fans and we were in The East Lower.
Just wanted to ask a question:
Dale Winton? Both sets of fans kept singing 'There's only one Dale Winton!' to him and he was right near me, just wanted t osee if anyone knew why this was.
Also, yet another Adebayor song has been made up, to the tune of Chamaleon, it goes Ade Ade Ade Ade Adebayor He's Gunner Score He's Gunner Score! and this went on for about 15 to 20 minutes with us singing it, well done lads
Just got back and admittedly I've had a few shandys but got to say a couple of things. Firstly, maybe people have an excuse to leave early normally but last home game today, why the hell didn't more people stay for the lap of honour/appreciation? I think it's a FUCKING disgrace. Fuck the tube/train/bus excuse. It was half empty at least. We're all gutted that no trophies arrived this season but every bastard who left should have their membership taken away. No excuse. It was an awful game but we've had a wonderful (albeit trophyless) season and there should have been at least 50,000 there to applaud the efforts of our team. I'M FUCKING DRUNK AND FUCKING ANGRY!!!!
Secondly, although it was a terrible game it just shows how we can keep a side like Everton quiet for most of the game but can't dominate like we should if we want to be serious contenders for English and European glory, Bendtner? Great header but a world class striker? Etc Etc. Just reinforced how the boss needs to re-think his squad for next season.
Waitress......more beer please!
At the risk of being a complete egotistical prick I actually posted that song on here & emailed it to Red Action last summer before Villa fans suspiciously started singing it for Agbonlahor !!!
Not that I'm trying to take all the credit or boast or anything (well, maybe a little) but if it was via this forum that the song actually got going then it does at least show that maybe by posting songs on here it is possible for us to get some new songs going at the Grove after all.
I like how we've started singing We Love You Arsenal for long periods especially towards the end of games ever since the fans did it after the match at Old Shatford as well.

Fucking brillaint move mate, went on for ages, I now prefer it to the Adebayor give him the ball one, everyone in the East was watching us, I love that song, the banter was fucking billiant, also I love it as wll howREDaction start off the We Love You Arsenal We Do at the end of every game, pure quality. he uny thing is though, REDaction didn't start this one off, I'm not sure they even sung it.
In that case I guess maybe it was just down to the readers of this forum who were at the match. Either that or someone else came up with it independently. I've heard it a few times without it ever really taking off properly.
In all honesty mate, as much as I was staking my claim for the credit before ultimately it's all down to the fans who join in & sing. Only get to a few games a year myself so fair play to the regulars like yourself.
Have to agree with Tomo above though the atmosphere didnt really come over on tv.

It does that, maybe the microphones aren't placed around The Clock End and East Stand, there it was really loud at times, when we scored out came one of my personal favourites, You're Not Singing Anymore! it started off and it was so fucking loud, everyone sung it, plus the club level was overhaging the lower tier where I sat, so it made it bounce off there as well, having even more effect. Imagine what it's like in the massive home games where it even sends a shiver down your spine when you're watching it on TV, fuck me it must be loud, believe me Tomo, it was loud
Shit game - and not brilliant atmosphere - and there were so many empty seats that I thought of asking my kids to move in the 2nd half so that I could lay down and get some kip!! We talked about the empty seats after the game and agreed that maybe 1 in 20 ticket holders didn't turn up, so 60100 was probably nearer 57000. Still not bad.
Also - credit to Arsenal that we were short of at least 7 players who would be considered first choice and still overcame a determined Everton side!
The undoubted highlight for me though was bumping into David Dein outside. I didn't realise that he still went to games - presumably he doesn't sit in the Directors Box . He was really friendly and happily posed with my kids for a picture (albeit that it looks like I must have pressed the wrong button on my mobile !!).
Its in the north side upper tier. It was really bad up there. Nobody sang at all apart from a few individuals including myself and the person behind me was having a chat with the steward for the whole game. Hopefully i will never sit that section again. lol
