Oh now I know, didn't they evesng for that lovely chorus of And It's Arsenal which was the loudest song of the game apart from at the end where te players wentarond all four stands.and it seemed as though everyone was singing it, i could see far and wide the other stands singing it, every single person in every single stand sang it, and we even started it off. Did thatcome through the tele?Babi Em wrote:Its in the north side upper tier. It was really bad up there. Nobody sang at all apart from a few individuals including myself and the person behind me was having a chat with the steward for the whole game.Hopefully i will never sit that section again. lol
Atmosphere
i would say i have been to 5 big home game this year. spurs league and carling cup, liverpool and milan champions league, and united league. atmosphere at all of these games was shit. best one where i was standing was spurs carling cup, but i heard other people saying they thought it was piss poor for a north london derby. the majority of people that fill our concrete bowl every week just go there to be entertained and dont give a shit about getting behind the team. It's so quiet at the lane wrote:It does that, maybe the microphones aren't placed around The Clock End and East Stand, there it was really loud at times, when we scored out came one of my personal favourites, You're Not Singing Anymore! it started off and it was so fucking loud, everyone sung it, plus the club level was overhaging the lower tier where I sat, so it made it bounce off there as well, having even more effect. Imagine what it's like in the massive home games where it even sends a shiver down your spine when you're watching it on TV, fuck me it must be loud, believe me Tomo, it was loudTomo wrote:atmosphere sounded shit on tv. like a training game
p.s : i do try my best to get the atmosphere going. after liverpool champions league i couldn;t speak properly for 4 days !!!!

Fair point, and we were in the family enclosure - same end as the away fans, but next to the other corner flag. It can be a good atmosphere in there, even with the babes and wrinklies, but not today. We walked around to the red action area at the end of the game and stood there for the lap of honour. That was brill.... saying goodbye to Jens! Don't know what Flamini was doing at the end of the lap. Pissing around, when he too is going if you believe the rumours! It's so quiet at the lane wrote:In different parts of the ground it's a different atmopshere, wht block was you in mate?

Yeah and everyone sang after the match aswell when the players were walking around the pitch. But apart from that it was pretty much quiet. Its not a great place to sit. I think the atmosphere at the Grove compares well with other grounds - but sometimes the tension you get at the big games means that there is plenty of noise, but not much singing.... I thought the worst of the ones you'd mentioned was Liverpool in the Champions League. As soon as they equalised it was like someone had muted the crowd!!Tomo wrote:i would say i have been to 5 big home game this year. spurs league and carling cup, liverpool and milan champions league, and united league. atmosphere at all of these games was shit. best one where i was standing was spurs carling cup, but i heard other people saying they thought it was piss poor for a north london derby. the majority of people that fill our concrete bowl every week just go there to be entertained and dont give a shit about getting behind the team.

You should try to get to an away game or two next season - or try to get a seat in the "North" end. Remember as well that few clubs have fans singing all around the ground....as we do. Liverpool have the Kop, but you don't get that much noise out of the seats along the side.
It looked like he was trying to nick someones water bottle but just irritating everyone!>Lethal~Prodigy< wrote:MK Gould wrote:Fair point, and we were in the family enclosure - same end as the away fans, but next to the other corner flag. THE ATMOSPHERE TODAY WAS PROBABLY THE WORST IT'S BEEN ALL SEASON - AND THAT'S SAYING SOMETHING!!
THE ONLY THINK MORE LETHARGIC THAN THE TEAM'S PERFORMANCE WAS THAT OF THE CROWD. IT WAS SHOCKING AND WE WERE TOTALLY OUTSUNG BY EVERTON ALL MATCH!!
I'M SURPRISED THEY DIDN'T TAKE THE PISS MORE!
THE ONLY TIME IT WAS ANY WAY DECENT WAS RIGHT AT THE END OF THE MATCH WHEN THE PLAYERS BEGAN DOING THEIR LAP OF HONOUR. HOWEVER, WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ATMOSPHERE AD-INFINIM. UNFORTUNATELY, THE CLUB MISSED A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THIS A FORTRESS BY GIVING THE PLANNING FOR THE REST OF THE CROWD AS MUCH ATTENTION AS THEY DID THE FACILITIES FOR THE PRAWN SANDWICH BRIGADE. BUT IT'S TOO LATE NOW.
APART FROM THE BIG MATCHES, OR IF IT'S LATE IN A GAME WHERE WE ARE TRAILING, THE HOME CROWD SEEM AS APATHETIC TO MAKING NOISE AS THEY WERE LAST SEASON.

Have to say the atmosphere is invariably poor where I am - Club Level behind the North Goal - only for ManU, Spurs and Chelsea has it really been acceptable.
Again, there's no way we have 60,000 in the ground Maybe 57,000 and the Evertonians were sold out and making most of the noise.
Having said that, I feared it would be worse than it was. And no I'm not taking the pi$$ !
But it's some indication of the 'drift' we'll get if things go belly up from August.
I really hope Wenger and the Board realise that. I fear however, they are oblivious.

Like MKG, I was also in the family enclosure and I would agree that the atmosphere was pretty poor, and we couldnt hear the noise that some of you could!
Why didnt they use the clap banners today instead of Reading if they wanted us to party? "Clap" they may be, but they did work last time.
The highlight of my day was meeting the luverly Dicko, Perry Groves and the infamous gooner.ed.......

I think, in fact I know the Dale Winton chants were about non other than our very own Mr Ben Roberts of the Herts & Beds Supporters Club, I understand that he and my nephew Liam amongst others were giving the toffees some shit for most of the game and in rsponse they decided our mr Ben looked like Dale...I'll let you decide

Well TBH, in some areas it was shit, never have I seen the Clock End that quiet this season, glad i sat in Block 19, which is next to the away fans Babi Em, East Lower. The atmosphere there was probably the best in the ground apart from REDaction, some of the singign fans were actually together this time instead of being spread out so much, loved the response with us singing there's only one bobby charlton.
P.S I was right next to them with your nephew Wayno.
