The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wonderful, another fucking midfielder, just what we need. It's the transfer equivalent of a pair of socks at Christmas.

Arteta, carzola ,flamini ,wilshere and coquelin out injured and you don't think we need a midfielder

But surely, they will be like new signings when they all come back in two-three weeks. We probably do need a new midfielder, but it would be nice if he didn't keep buying them and injuring them.

All joking aside is i know he plays for Basel but does anyone actually know if he is any good, or is he likely to be another cheap almost but not nearly good enough? :rubchin:

Ffs Wenger after the last two games it's pretty obvious we need a defender and a striker who knows how to shoot!

Which is true for every single person here (unless we have any closet fans of the Swiss League in which case apologies and get a life).

To be honest listening to a lot of people and their opinions on players in foreign leagues you would think they spend half of their life watching the likes of La Liga etc to form comprehensive opinions on just about any player.

Giroud is reputed to be on 130k a week. Would any other club in the world honestly pay him HALF that much?
Amen to that. Walcott is vastly overpaid too. Almost all of the players are overpaid.

To be fair, £50-60K seems to be our 'standard' wage. Shocking as that is. I guess TOF thinks they'll play like footballers who are actually talented enough to justify that ludicrous wage.

Bargain basement buy yet again! Does anyone know if AW has shares in the club as he seems to want to protect the shares dividend no matter what :banghead:

To be honest i'd rather stick with Famini as at least i know how much he is worth to us, legendary mercenary that he is he's been a lot more disciplined in games recently, not that that says much :rubchin:
Well TOF does take £8.5M per year in wages out of the club, which is more than that wig wearing tosser takes out the club every season.

The kid is 23 and a regular for Egypt. He could do a job. Flamini's days here are numbered anyway.

That is his style unfortunately.

It would be nice if he could bother to try a few local lads who know what it means to play for The Arsenal. The youth team has been mostly been a shower of shit since the early 90s. Now they're filled with kids poached from other clubs and other countries who will almost certainly never make more than a few token appearances for the senior side in the League Cup and will end up playing for Yeovil or the dregs of Europe.

I know what you mean, but at least he's a defensive midfielder for a change.

Worth a punt at £5M, I'd say. Sky did a write-up on him.

Apparently he has a shot on him. From long range too.

TOF will coach that out of him :barscarf:

Project Giroud will continue as long as TOF graces our club with his presence.

And God forbid TOF 'kills' him by upgrading our attacking options
