THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Wenger. Wenger chooses when to go and will certainly try and select his replacement.

Come on down Dragan Stojkovic.

I don't trust any of those wankers on the board to make the right choice, let alone have the bottle to go for someone like Pep (if he was even available by then).

I can easily believe there will be a non-decision and they will keep TOF here for many years to come whilst deluding themselves that he will live forever and won't have to appoint his successor. TOF going upstairs would be a disaster, in any case.

If he finally fucks off and there are no big names available, I could happily settle for Keown or Bould in charge, then finally get some ex-Arsenal on the coaching staff. I doubt that'll happen though.

If Wenker has a plan they will back it, if he doesn't they will stay silent.

I think the shit storm of January / February's results will be enough to see Wenker off in the summer.

Hope Pep can be a real fan and have patience till then.

Really, mate? We're talking about a deluded old fool who survived 2011 - 4-4 at Newcastle, Birmingham upset at Wembley, dropping 21 points in the last 11 games to bottle the title, then 8-2 at Old Trafford (and several humiliations since). We certainly didn't win the Calendar Year Trophy that year. If he could survive that dire run, he could survive anything.

Interesting run of games there though. Liverpool, Stoke, Chelsea, Southampton, and the first leg of the inevitable Barcelona defeat.

I doubt a nuclear explosion would see him off :banghead:

Should pick up 4 points from those 4. We'll lose to Stoke, that's carved in stone, maybe get a draw against Liverpool or Chelsea, lose the other one. Should get revenge at home against Southampton. Unless of course their shit run continues and they get another rocket shoved up their arse before they run out to face us. For the record they have continued their losing streak bar, that interruption, when they fucked us title pretenders six ways from Sunday.

Southampton have played 9 games and lost 7 of them. A 4 nil drubbing of the Arsenal was their high point. :banghead: :banghead:

But only 1 defeat whilst Sanchez has been out. So not all doom and gloom :D

Long term Wenger is going nowhere the end of his contract at the earliest and will have nominated remi garde as manager when he graciously accepts a seat on the board where he will still pull the strings !
I think that is the reason Remi Garde took the Villa Job ,to gain some experience of life in the roast beef fast lane !

Shorty term we have a very important time ahead in the league with Liverpool ,Chelsea and Stoke on the Horizon not to mention a Janaury transfer window .

How he addresses these challenging issues will be paramount to our success for the next few years !

Why would the transfer window be included in the "challenging issues??" All the transfer window is to Wenger is an annoyance as we look at him to strengthen and he has no intention of doing so. He has bitched about it on more than one occasion. If Wenger had his way there would be a one week window every 3 years, stop those irritating fans banging on about that "strengthening" nonsense.
