The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

For me it would be a mistake letting all 3 of them go at once though, big hit in experience to take. Rosicky needs to do his coaching badges with us.

expereince of what, winning top 4 trophy?

rosicky stealing a wage fr years, good when fit but never fit, arteta 3 years past it, yes lets give them new deals...

flamini at a push simply as 3rd choice cover.

At this rate we will be league champions again in 2024, Wenger is slowly and i say slowly building a team

First Ozil, then Sanchez and now Cech. Just need 8 more of that quality and we should be champions :D :D

The club is like a dirty old lap dancer who likes to tease, but always lets you down. We have spent big on Ozil and Sanchez, but now gone back to the penny pinching days of £5m for some unknown Egyptian. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

yeah we are teaming him up with Benzema upfront.....all paper talk crap....

He will only make the one signing, if that......
You're right I'm sure but this is the kind of signing we really need.

According to sky sports Jackson Martinez might be up for sale from Athletico as it hasn't worked out for him and Simeone tends to get rid quickly. Might be interesting as he was being touted in the summer as a quality striker. A cheeky bid may well see him jump at chance to move.

I've seen people defend henry's decision to leave us when he did (on a different thread) based on his realisation that we as a club were not going to win the big trophies at that time, so what kind of thoughts do you think ozil and sanchez will have to this signing ? A lot of our players will welcome this signing cos it isnt a big name signing and wont threaten the futures of many of our players, but the big players (like ozil and sanchez) want to win trophies and signing this UNPROVEN guy doesnt send out a message of a club ambitious to win the big prizes
I think this will work out as a short term fix, he has champions league experience, an established international at a young age and has won a few cups along the way. He is more established and experienced as a player than Coquelin. As soon as Coquelin and Carzola are fit he'll be on the bench. Sounds harsh but that is the way wenger works.

Very true he looks decent, but at around 40 million though don't think miser Wenger will go for it

His name's been linked with various clubs for years, during which time he's been a big shot in Portugal. His first venture into a decent league and he's been less than impressive. Plus, he's now 29, so we'd hardly be gambling on potential. Big fee, big wages for someone who's scored twice in eleven games in La Liga.

I'd love to see a striker join us, but I don't think he's the man.

AND the only cheeky bid you get is £0.01 from the fool

Coquelin forced back towards the end of January before picking up another muscular injury which ends his season.

Cazorla to suffer a setback and be "not quite ready" for several games in a row before coming back mid-March and forcing Ozil out wide.

Arteta to suffer several more injuries this season but still get a new contract.

Welbeck not to be seen at all in 2016.
Do you have Wednesday's lottery numbers? :D

Strange how the same things happen all the time. Anyone would think we've had eight years of this shit :suicide:

Our club motto should be 'Jam Tomorrow' :barscarf:

It's frustrating as fuck. I'd hoped that TOF would have at least get a big (outfield) signing every year. Now back to the glory days of 2008-13 :banghead:

A quick quiz question for you all this morning......

Your team stands on the cusp of ending a run of 12 years without a league title, and you have £100m sitting in the bank ready to help make that happen.......what do you do ?
If you said that you would attempt to buy a former jailbird striker from a 3rd rate club, then you get full marks

Why sign benzema, higuain, marco reus or that other dortmund striker, when you can sign troy fcuking deeney
