THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Thats incredible.....did not realise was so much....where is it all going?????
TOF's £23K per day wage packet

And the overpaid players in the first team and all the other crocks and dead wood on our very generous 'Socialist Wage Structure', not to mention the pubbers in the youth team :banghead:

It just makes our underachievement in the Cashburton era that much more scandalous. So much waste.

It's not a football club anymore. It's a fucking bank.

the thing is with the spuds building their stadium and west ham without doubt being bought up once they move it shows how outdated the old farts that run arsenal are. we will have missed our opportunity of dominance as other London clubs will be in the same positin as us and chelsea in years to come. Whats the bet they will capitalise on that

We have wasted these last 9/10 years, no question. It boils my piss that Chelsea won the Be All and End All before us, whilst we continue to plod along with the serial failure in Europe that is TOF, who has made European matches meaningless whilst we appear in only one CL final in 18 seasons and we couldn't even win the UEFA Cup when we dropped into that. He couldn't even win the CWC with Monaco.

Levy and the porn barons are canny fuckers as well. Which is more than can be said of our redundant excuse of a board, the fiddling arsehole majority shareholder and TOF who runs the club from top to bottom. Badly.

What's the general consensus, will he leave on a high if he wins the league or will he stay on for more glory?? If he doesn't win it, will he stay on until he does?? So basically my question is, what is the best way of getting fucking shot of him??

If he wins it, he will get smug, laugh at everyone (1 title in 11 years wow) and then his next project will begin: win the CL. Already said he can't see himself retiring without winning it! Him winning the PL will mean a huge new contract for him, and total immunity. Just remember what happened last time he won it (clue, he got a decade of grace to fail!)

He won't win the PL anyway. So, he will declare 2nd as success, board will be thrilled, he'll talk about how "close" we were and how "injuries" (yawn) derailed us. He'll be more determined than ever to win it and will sign a new deal.

With Pep, Jose and maybe Simeone joining the PL cash-cow next year, he will never ever stand a chance of winning it again.

Only way he goes is in a coffin. :rubchin:

As much as I despise his dictatorship and smug arrogance, I still hope we can win the PL this year and for him to go out on a high, paving the way for Pep to takeover 8) Despite all the bullshit, it was great to see him smiling again when we lifted that FA Cup in 2014. Like the Queeny said in her Xmas speech - "better to light a candle than curse the darkness" 8) :barscarf:

The best way of getting rid of the fucker is if we do our usual and fuck up the PL this season, there's no way his ego will let him quit on a 'high' :banghead: :banghead:

I really think we are fucked either way. He won't leave on a high (FA Cup 2014), and I doubt he'll leave on a low. He has 511 days left on his contract and I can't see him leaving before then. As we know, he is unsackable. The board are so desperate to maintain the status quo that they will want to delay TOF's departure as long as possible.

I don't think there's even a succession plan in place - despite any bullshit that flows freely from Gazidis' mouth. The club has perfectly set itself up to go over the cliff when TOF leaves the club in a box (I even made a joke about it). It will be year zero when he goes, but yet it will be a great day when he finally leaves the club.

Still, any football manager with a brain will have to do a lot of spring cleaning when he arrives at the club. I just hope he is the right man - which with our board, is by no means certain, given the total lack of football men at the top of the club. It does look like they will ask TOF for his 'suggestion' when the time comes, which very well may doom us to more purgatory.

They don't have the balls or ambition to go for men like Guardiola, Klopp or Simeone, so in that case I wouldn't mind an Arsenal man taking over even if it was seen as 'cheap' or an 'internal solution' - a Keown/Bould management team, with ex-players returning to the club to help with coaching would be ideal to put the backbone back into The Arsenal. But the fact is, I have fuck-all faith in the shysters, suits and chancers that infest our club. It will be important to mobilize the support (if that's even possible) when the time comes to call for the right successor to be chosen. No more underachievement or financial/football waste should be permitted at the club.

Step One is to get TOF out of the club, we'll worry about the rest when the time comes. Up The Arsenal! :barscarf:
