Don't know anything about him but if our scouts have been working 24/7 to bring in the right player then I can only assume he is awesome

No he won't. From who anyway.... a bunch of newspaper journalists who have "never managed a football team", ungrateful fans who have "never managed a football team" or our board who have "never managed a football team"?? AND are shit scared of Kroenke's golden boy.augie wrote:QuartzGooner wrote:Deal is done.
Confirmed by Wenger.

Looks to me like a replacement for Arteta, an all-rounder continuity midfielder, rather than a tough defensive enforcer.
Probably brought in a few months early because of the large amount of injuries we have.
Continuing wenkers proud tradition of only buying top top quality players![]()

Of course if he had of cost £30m instead of the pittance we are paying, then all you ungrateful b.stards would think that he is the mutts nuts![]()

Yet again it is an example of le cock not recognising the team needs - DM is a specialist position so buying a box to box midfielder is a waste of time when we have enough f.cukers already that can do that job. The man clearly thinks that energy will compensate for positional awareness and a discipline to stay protecting the back 4![]()

Very underwhelmed and if (when) we balls up this golden opportunity to win the league, le cock will face an absolute grilling over his refusal to buy proven quality

Lads, we don't know enough about the guy to comment.
ItchyBaba - can you go on one of your fans sites comments sections and let us know if he's "the greatest love of footballing Arsenal and Barcelona for the winningest great player" or if he's "hated by my girlfriend, Rugby is better"? Thank you.

You'll have to wait till after 4pm when him and his mates from class 10c can do some research together round his house, after all it takes on average about 12 hours for him and his posse to retort

I for one welcome this signing because as I said on another thread he's surely got to be an upgrade on Flamini and Arteta and for that I give praise. Not the super quality player we need but an upgrade on the sh1te we already have.......surely?
That's great but when you are going for the league and have a huge transfer kitty behind you, is just upgrading two average footballers enough ? Any half decent manager would look at coquelin (not flamoney and arteta) and look to upgrade on him, but mr 30 years doesn't want the extra pressure and expectation that will come after buying in a top quality DM and striker

xisstential, it is my belief that there isn't a Gooner alive that doesn't realise that this league is there for us to win like never before. Every Gooner alive knows that we are 1 or 2 top quality players away from winning that league title, and everyone knows that he has a massive transfer budget available to bring those players in. If we were then to fail having only brought in a £5m unknown this month, AND having brought in NO outfield player in the last transfer window, then I think that there will be absolute fierce reaction from the fans. In the past when we have all criticised the old c.unt for not spending, we did so on the basis that he is doing just enough to finish 4th when really we could and should have been doing enough to put up some sort of a challenge for the league - this season, because the standard of the league has been diabolical, we SHOULD be winning the league cos the other teams are garbage, and even finishing 2nd will be classed as failure

Well you never know.

Re: Welcome: Mohamed Elneny
I agree 100% Augie but Wenger was never going to make a signing to catapult us towards the league so we have to make do. That's where we are until he F's off. Now, if we were floundering around in 6th and attaining the VT was in serious jeopardy then I could see a willingness to splash the cash on a proven quality player. It's completely head wrecking and I'm broken.augie wrote:rodders999 wrote:We don't buy superstars we make themGoonuz71 wrote: He may not be a superstar![]()

Re: Welcome: Mohamed Elneny
I know nothing about Elneny, I've never heard of him until, say three, four weeks ago when we started being linked with him. I can't judge how he is because never in my life have I sat down and decided to watch the Swiss league and I have never needed to catch Basel on the telly in terms of their European games.
It could turn out to be a fantastic deal, or it could turn out to be another failed attempt at finding a diamond in the rough. I, for one, certainly can't say yet. I just hope that he has a bit of grit in his game and isn't another tippy tappy type player.

If he's as good or better than Coq then it'll be a great signing. Time will tell. He should be starting within the week.
