Real Football Disasters

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Real Football Disasters

Post by Cus Geezer »

After the finish to the season that we've had it's good to remember what a real football disaster looks like

Do not open if easily distressed

The on pitch death of Serginiho

The Bradford Fire in 1985

Heysel two weeks later

Hillsborough in 1989

yeah...you can add Foe's death to that too, plus the Scottish player this season ( i do not know his name) , plus the mass crushes in Africa a few years ago, and Ibrox 1971 and sadly many more

and on a slightly less traumatic angle

any of us who supported Arsenal before Wenger came, had many years of less than sparkling football, and mid table finishes.

3rd in league is not a disaster

I'm not trying to make a point, just been trawling through YouTube on a slow bank holiday and found these clips.

But it's worth noting - things could be a lot worse.

There is a lot worse
Than not finishing first
Hillsborough was a real disaster
Not Flamini leaving for the land of pasta
Though you get the feeling this side might be cursed
