c***s AKA the scum

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Would I be that bothered if they sneaked above us into 2nd, a way off winners City?

Not massively if I'm being honest.

I have to say that I would be pissed as hell if they finished above us and even if it was just by goal difference  We have been on the decline for a number of years now (despite claims from the akbs  ), but to allow them to finish above us would be the final nail in the coffin and sealing our status as a club no longer viewed alongside the biggest in the league
The sad thing about it is that finishing below the scum would have no affect from the wenger worshippers - there is a high percentage of them that have never known life before le cock came along and thus they dont understand or recognise the rivalry, but also these fans have put their dedication to wenker above their dedication to the club and as such they wont feel the pain of finishing below them

I don't want them finishing above us but the reality is, apart from bragging rights them finishing 2nd and us 3rd doesn't make a jot of difference. It won't happen anyway....I'm still not convinced they will even finish top 4

One thing that is for sure is that when we were finishing 4th it certainly helped Wenger that it was them who kept blowing up and finishing 5th, especially in seasons where we clawed back a deficit on them. If that had been Leicester, Everton or the like he would have received a lot more shit, but the euphoria of seeing them fuck it up time and time again allowed fans who were on the fence about Wenger to vote in favour still

must not know any spurs fans if you aren't that bothered about them finishing above us. that would be like a trophy for them, never hear the end of it.

I've never met or interacted with a scum fan that wasn't a total cúnt. Them (FINALLY  ) finishing above us would be simply appalling. :|

This isn't aimed at you NB123 as I've no idea how long you've been a Gooner (though I get the impression there's at least a couple decades in there) but I've noticed this general trend (mostly in alot of our younger and newer fans) to try and take some kind of higher moral position and discount the rivalry between us and the deluded shit from the lane. If you've never had a dart or a coin fucked at your head by one of these mutts then maybe you can't understand the hatred between us and them.

Football is tribal. Our tribe hates their tribe. I love the rivalry part of it. I love getting one over on those cúnts. And I'm fucking distraught for days afterwards if they beat us. :x

Fuck them and fuck this thread. If they finish above us then it just shows how fucking toilet we are, and how toilet (in the league) we’ve been for the best part of a decade.

Is our benchmark for success finishing above them? Nice as it always, always is, I’d be more concerned about our absolutely dire showing in recent games and, looking at the aways we still have, I’d be absolutely gobsmacked if we’re still in the hunt for title come March.

Days afterwards.... thats a normal defeat mate, if we loose to that scum can only be atoned by beating them in the next game, however long that takes

Hated that trash for years, always remember queuing at Highbury on a Sunday for an all ticket match at the lane

Ticket in hand arrived at the ground, only to be told that too many Arsenal were in there and not allowing anyone else in FFS

Really not sure what other club would operate like that :banghead:

Me and about 20 others managed to get in, being marched around the pitch..... but thats another story :D

And we won :barscarf:

If they ever do finish above us, it'll be because we have dropped a long way under TOF.

But isn't that the point here - nobody is saying that the scum are great, but what is being said is that we are average and going backwards :( Yes they have to deal with the Europa league schedule, but lets not forget that we still have to travel to both manc clubs and to the scum shithole, plus we have Leicester at home and that aint going to be easy either.
The concerns I have aren't based on ability cos we have better players than them all over the park - my worries are based on the hunger and attitude of their players and the consistency that they are showing (that we are not). The league has never been about top performances (that's what the cups are about) but rather they are about consistency and the ability to grind out results - people rightly point out that they struggled against palace lately, but the point is that even though they struggled they still picked up 3 pts.

I'm not saying that they will finish above us this season cos the league is so shit that it is impossible to predict who will finish where (except that we know we wont it  ) - what I am saying is that this is their best chance for many a year to finish above us and they know it. The team that the tax dodger had a few years ago had some good players in it but they were playing against better teams and in a stronger league - these days you don't have to have a good team and I would certainly rate that scum team as good as the manure team that many reckon will finish top 4. I certainly wouldn't be as cocky/dismissive about their chances of finishing above them
You're right that they are becoming a worry. They had a pretty good side under Crooknapp and it was funny to see all the scum fans turn on him when he was flashing his knickers at the FA for the England job whilst maintaining in the court case that he was an illiterate who owns Europe's richest dog.

I agree totally. They're our local rivals, but should never be our league rivals. Beating Spurs is the bare minimum requirement, even if we finished 17th and them 18th

They have got closer to us in recent seasons though and that is a concern. If their new stadium doesn't bankrupt them, we'll have pissed away our advantage that we should have built upon since we moved to Cashburton almost a decade ago. Two FA Cups isn't 'competing with Europe's elite'.

Get a hold of yourself.

Palace are sinking like a stone. They'd gone 5 league games without scoring before today, including drawing blanks against Villa, Bournemouth and Swansea and shipping in 7 against Chelsea and City.

Spurs will inevitably dovetail when the testing Europa League trips start coming thick and fast and we get to the business end of the season.
So you keep telling me every time I express my concerns!
Mate, they are in this whether we like it or not. Our trip to the shithole in March is gonna be very very interesting!
You gonna put my mind at rest? :banghead:
