Re: Is it time for a Jan Transfer Window Thread Yet?
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that no other club wanted £5m Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
Elneny has been described as “between Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey” with his defensive-minded box-to-box style; he will start in midfield alongside Francis Coquelin on Saturday against Burnley in the FA Cup.
Wenger appears quite cautious about Elneny, who was shocked by the physicality of the game against Stoke two weeks ago.
“Let’s see how well he adapts to English football before we see if we have got him for a cheap price,” said Wenger.
“Maybe there wasn’t a lot of competition because we were the only interested club in signing him.
Hilarious.

Funny enough I can't see anyone else tripping over themselves to sign Abel Hernandez either despite our supposed interest. Wonder if that's got anything to do with 4 goals in 27 PL gamesIkechukwu1 wrote:Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that no other club wanted £5m Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

If we sign him I'll risk any length of ban for a TO1AW tourettes attack

Re: Is it time for a Jan Transfer Window Thread Yet?
I just posted in the match thread that no-one else was in for him. Apparently, TOF hopes that Elneny will be another Jean Tigana
I'm not impressed to hear how shocked he was about the physicality of the PL. I hope he's not yet another ponce.
Hernandez was a decent player on Football Manager, 'Little bit qualitee'
This has been a wet fart of a transfer window

Isco isn't coming, but even if he was who gives a shit about another technical midfielder. Probably the sort of late deal TO1AW would actually make as opposed to finding a striker who can actually move and who has a brain, a CDM that doesn't get brushed aside or a CB who can actually win a header

My brain can't really process Newcastle bidding £21m for Berahino. I think that I should be finding it hilarious but I'm just confused.
I guess their thinking is that he might just score a few goals to help keep them up. But the bloke has the worst attitude in English football, the club must be desperate to offload and let's be honest he is a glorified Jermain Defoe.

Absolutely agree re his shocking attitude, but defoe has been none of the best goal poachers in England for the past decade so if he is good as that, then they will be happy

When you see Ramires off to China for 25 million, Townsend moving for 12 million and now Berahino going for 21 million it gets me thinking that maybe, just maybe, we could catch some poor misfortunate desperate club for a serious wedge of cash for some of the dross in our squad.
Walcott, Wilshire, Ox for starters. Roll up roll up!!!

Have you ever been on here on a deadline day? If our Nat's bangers aren't your thing I wouldn't bother logging in tomorrow if I were you

Agreed - but with Berahino's attitude the best you can hope for is as good as Jermain Defoe for a year before he throws his toys out the pram and demands a move. Like I said I guess there is a chance he could score a few and help keep them up this season but within 2 seasons he will be refusing to play unless he gets his dream move to West Ham.augie wrote:northbank123 wrote:My brain can't really process Newcastle bidding £21m for Berahino.
